LET’S GRAB THIS SUMMER BY THE HORNS!

Today marks exactly one year since the release of our debut record, Servants of the Outer Dark (and also, um, Canada Day, we guess). It’s surreal to consider everything that’s happened in the last 365 days. This time last year, we didn’t have a manager, or a label, or a booking agent. We’d never even played a show as Thirteen Goats (although and had performed the songs live a couple of times under their previous band name). Fast forward to last week, when we signed a deal for our second album with right before taking the stage at to open for living legends and . And there’s more in the works—our manager, at , has been burning the candle at both ends to help us bring this thing to the next level. So today, instead of getting bent out of shape over our country’s divisive legacy, we want to thank everybody who’s helped us get this far and celebrate something we can all agree is socially positive—this collection of loud songs about evil wizard goat demons crucifying and eating people. With family roots in the bloodlands of Eastern Europe, the members of this Vancouver four-piece play ferocious riff-driven bangers while delivering darkly humorous lyrics about death, madness, and the destruction of all things. They even brought their own prophet of doom to this party at the end of the world—the band's mascot is a goat-skull-wearing Antichrist named Shepherd, who wreaks havoc across space and time with 12 demon goats for his disciples. Is it a political statement about the evils of herd mentality, a symbol of our animal nature, or just proof that goats are metal as f**k? You decide.
