Well you are in luck!! I am running a wedding cake tasting next week and will be sending out samples to my Autumn couples that have yet to try my cakes, some new couples and anyone who is interested in booking with me but who would like to buy a tasting box before you enquire.

Each box is posted out by next day delivery and will be going out next Wednesday or Thursday. Each one contains four of your favourite flavours from my menu with a piece each for you and your partner (that’s a whopping eight slices of scrummy cake!).

Well since it is my birthday today (the grand old age of 37 thank you for asking 😉) I thought it was a good opportunity to re-introduce myself to those of you who don’t already know me!

I’m Olivia, owner, chief baker, designer and decorator at Olivia bakes.

I am an ex Event Manager so my love of cake design has married nicely together in my ideal job as a wedding cake artist!

I live in a small village on the Hampshire/Surrey border with my partner Jamie, a Director of Photography (and the unwitting technical support and graphic designer of Ob!), our two young kids and our sweet grumpy cat Floki 🐾

I am passionate about creating beautiful, sustainable wedding cakes. I love swimming, yoga and running in the ocean with the kids!

My it's been warm lately hasn't it! We usually get some lovely warm weather for a fair bit of the summer but the last few weeks have been continuous sunshine, and I for one, LOVE it. Wedding cakes however, do not. It’s a sight absolutely no one wants to see on their wedding day - a melting wedding cake. This can happen for many reasons but luckily, they’re all preventable!

This four tier stunner with cascading white florals was for a wonderful outdoor wedding at Froyle Park for the lovely Aneesha and Luke. It was filled with double chocolate, lemon and blueberry, sticky toffee pudding cake and vanilla bean, white chocolate and raspberry 😋

This elegant two tier was for a stunning Muslim wedding in early June. The bride, Shuky, had a really clear vision for what she wanted her cake to look like. I love how it turned out!

How stunning are these photos from ?! ✨

It was such a pleasure to work with Menka and Krishan on their wedding cake. As hard working doctors planning a wedding while juggling winter rotas must be no picnic. This lovely couple always had a smile on their faces and were a delight to work with! 💖

The cake herself was four tiers of alternating double chocolate and red velvet with a cheeky back of house vanilla bean, white chocolate and raspberry 😋

🌺 Pressed Flowers 🌺

I am totally loving the pressed edible flowers trend that started last year and is showing now signs of slowing yet! This four tier beauty with a spacer feature was inspired by a cake I saved from Pinterest last year and cannot for the life of me find the OG baker 🙈 hit me up if you know which one I mean. 👋🏻

The florals are all , the spacer is the one and only .options and the venue is of course the stunning 💖

Happy New Year you lovely lot! I hope you’ve all had some chill to celebrate but mainly to *recover* from the madness that was 2022 🙈

I’ve been having some much needed family time with my wee ones - my youngest is learning to roller skate 🤪 and my eldest has discovered Minecraft! 🟩

Here are some of my faves from last year. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into some exciting new designs for my lovely 2023 couples!

I currently have about 60% of my 2023 dates filled so get in touch if you’d like to book your wedding cake with me this year. There’s some good availability in June and October but very limited availability on peak season dates.

🌹🍃Flower Meadow 🍃🌹

I had a great weekend at meeting some wonderful couples and amazing suppliers! This piece was for the wedding fair but she got so many compliments I just had to give her own square. Thank you to Mike at for shooting her so beautifully for me! 👌🏻

She was my first fully ganached finish apart from semi-naked designs and I may finally see what and have been talking about for so long! I am in love!! Also she stayed perfect for two whole days at the wedding fair which would never have happened with a buttercream finish 😅

Also, totally madly - ganache is actually currently cheaper than buttercream!?! 🤯

The pièce de résistance was of course the stunning flower meadow made for me - she is a floral magician and it finished her off perfectly ✨💘

I love a four tier cake. Especially with a little four inch or five inch to top it off like this one. It has such a striking look and can really complete your wedding decorations! The total bonus being that you can eat it afterwards of course!

This beauty was four tiers of classic vanilla bean sponge stuffed with fresh raspberries, filled with lashings of silky smooth vanilla bean Swiss meringue buttercream and handmade raspberry conserve to cut the sweetness 😋😋😋
