This dresser was a roller coaster of emotions! I went from having big plans to wanting to throw it in Robin Hood Bay. I had so many dreams for a stain/painted combo with much more stain than what it ended up with! It is solid wood and I thought it would be lovely to highlight the natural wood.
But alas, the whole thing was sealed in what I can only imagine was bucketfuls of crazy glue. It took me 4 days of stripping, scraping and sanding to get the topcoat and original orange stain off the top! My dreams were dashed!

Instead, I actually love how it came out! It is painted in Fusion's Goddess Ashwaghanda, which is my favourite of their whites. It isn't too bright, and has just a kiss of Grey in it. The top is a dark black stain that shows the original pine in a beautiful new light. Swipe for the before pictures!

New, black hardware was added, really modernizing the whole look. The whole construction is solid pine. It is super sturdy and will last a lifetime!

Measurements:
54" tall
36" wide
18" deep

It never ceases to amaze me what wood is hidden beneath thick layers of stain.
This table had so much lacquered red stain on it that I wasn't even sure it was real wood. I was going to paint the whole thing but something told me I should try stripping it first. I'm glad I did!
I whitewashed the top to get rid of the lasting red tones, and sealed it for a durable finish. The bottom is painted in Coal Black. Of course I forgot to take a before picture. 🤦‍♀️
The result is a fresh and modern look that would suit any decor!
It is already in its new home! ♥️

From "blah" to "ta-da"!

These plain boring brown dressers were stripped, sanded and then painted using Fusion's Coal Black and metallic Gold paints. I added new gold hardware which gave it that pop it really needed. The gold legs give it the final touch of pizzazz.

These are a great statement piece and could be put into a bedroom, or split up for a buffet piece in a dining room, or put into an entryway or hallway!

These have found their new home 😊

The purse on the dresser is also for sale! I made it with soft calfskin leather and a Disney print. The strap is adjustable from shoulder bag length to crossbody, and levery length in between! The bag is $160 :)

It has been so long since I have done any furniture! It has been collecting in my basement, but it felt like there wasn't enough time to get anything done. Finally I told myself to get it together and do it. I started back with these solid wood coffee and end tables. I stripped off what felt like a half inch of cherry stain and varnish, and went with a walnut stain instead for the top. The legs are painted in Fusion's coal black, which gives them a strong look thar could suit any room tone, it works with both warm and cool colours!

They measure 50 x 26 x 18.5 high for the coffee table and 24 x 24 x 22.5 high for the end tables.

These beauties are priced at $275.

I haven't done much over the summer. We don't get enough sun here, so I feel guilty for wasting even one minute of sunshine being inside! But I did manage to do two gifts over the last couple of months.
The first was the top hutch of a China cabinet. I put some new legs on it, painted it with Fusion's Ash Grey, and covered the mirrors in a marbled contact paper. It looks completely unrecognizable now as a curio cabinet, filled with China dolls and figurines!

The second was a baby shower gift for a mickey-loving momma. Coincidentally the fabric I picked to decoupage the top with was the same fabric she already had on her windows and lampshade in the room! The look on her face said it all!

This beauty was a beast to refinish (see what I did there?!)
The simple structure and clean lines always fool me, there are so many surfaces to clean, sand, strip, refinish, etc. I thought this would never be done 🥵.

It is solid wood and was originally from Pier One, but the dark stain wasn't doing it any favours! I love the light airy look it has now, using a walnut stain and my all-time favourite Goddess Ashwagandha. There is one flaw in the top, but it can easily be hidden.

This would be beautiful as a hallway console table, or dining room buffet or a TV stand! It measures 46" x 32" x 18".

It has already found its new home! 🤩

Wow! This poor vanity needed quite a bit of work to restore it into this beautiful piece! So many hours of sanding and stripping off old varnish! The work was worth it though!

The top is stained in espresso, while everything else is painted with Fusion's Goddess Ashwagandha - my absolute favourite off-white, and it is discontinued! 💔.

This is a beautiful addition to a bedroom or hallway. 😍

She has found her new home ❤

I'm starting in on this antique vanity table. The man who sold it to me told me he thinks it was made around 1910! It's in great condition, just needs some love and a refinish.
I am staining the top, and was thinking of doing the rest in an off-white, but after the last dresser I did in Ash, I don't know if this should be dark or light?
What do you think? What would you do if it was yours?
And if you want it to be yours you could pick the colour and I'll take it from there!

It has been a VERY long time since I have been able to get in the workshop to do anything! This beauty was worth the wait though!
The original was orange an brown, a true 1960's colour tone. I spent hours and hours cleaning and stripping and sanding before I could even begin to think about how she wanted to be painted. Once I saw the beautiful wood under all that cover, I knew what needed to be done. The top is done in a dark walnut while the drawers and sides are Fusion's Ash. The result is truly stunning! 😍
