Happy New Year, everyone! 🎉 Reflecting on 2023, it was an incredible year for photography, filled with breathtaking moments from the landscapes of Greece to the enchanting locales of Scotland and the UK.
Exciting news—I am now the proud owner of a local photography club in Pitlochry! Turning a dream into reality, 2023 marked a significant milestone in my life. Get ready for an amazing journey as I share dates and locations for our club meets and photo walks.
While we had hoped to secure indoor venues, the high costs have made it challenging. Nevertheless, we're committed to creating opportunities for people to connect and share their love for photography.
Looking forward to a year filled with creativity, exploration, and community. 📸 Cheers to 2024 and the adventures that lie ahead! Can't wait to see all the street party photos up on the group.

Cheers to the end of 2023, a year 🎉 As I reflect on the past 12 months, it's incredible to see how much life can change and evolve.
The journey began with its challenges, navigating rocky mental health terrain. Yet, amidst the trials, the universe threw a curveball – Mark, my partner, missed his plane back to England after our first date. Without hesitation, we embarked on a 12-hour alpine adventure covering 400 miles overnight. Talk about turning a mishap into a memorable escapade!
then i had rid home in time for going to the Isle of Rhodes, marked the start of a whirlwind.i got back The DGR ride in Edinburgh, with the iconic photo at the castle, added another chapter to our story. then to ary show
Mark began putting his pieces together. A move to Scotland followed, with half his life in the car and the other half in a van, accompanied by a loyal dog companion . The journey continued with a detour to the Overland Eventin oxford then headed to Cornwall, visiting my friend Debbie. The Wales BMW GS tropyh proved to be a significant chapter, offering valuable insights and pointers for honing my skills.
As the year unfolded, Robin, my trusty companion, was prepared for the next adventure – a readiness for the 2024 race season with a successful MOT. The anticipation for the upcoming year is palpable, filled with dreams and aspirations. The road ahead promises a busy 2024, with plans already in motion. Stay tuned for updates and be part of the excitement as we gear up for a thrilling return to the race track – back to racing, baby!

Riding the Pain: A Cautionary Tale"
In the world of speed and adrenaline, I learned a lesson the hard way. Eight years ago, at the age of 23, I tore the tendon in my knee while cruising at 40 mph on a 125 motorcycle in nothing but my Levi jeans. Only three miles from home, I never anticipated the life-altering consequences that would follow.
Unable to walk for years, my knee injury became a constant companion, a painful reminder of the risks I took that fateful day. Hiking, once a cherished activity, had to be abandoned as it only worsened the damage. Now, in my 30s, I face the prospect of a knee replacement. The daily ritual of painkillers has become a necessary evil, especially in the unforgiving winter months when the pain intensifies.
The love for motorcycles runs deep in my veins, and I cannot imagine a life without them. However, each ride serves as a painful reminder of the choices I made. I recently got back on my bike, a powerful KTM with 150 bhp. The thrill is undeniable, but the risk is higher than ever.
Reflecting on my experience, I implore fellow riders to prioritize safety over style. It's not worth the pain and long-term consequences. I've witnessed riders opting for leggings, prioritizing looks over skin protection, a decision that can have severe repercussions. I bear a hole in my knee as a constant reminder of the price I paid for my choices.
Having the need for speed is a natural inclination, but it's crucial to remember that going fast doesn't prove anything other than risking one's life. The perception that bikers have a death wish is not unfounded, and it's essential to think beyond the thrill.
It's not just about personal safety; the aftermath of a high-speed accident affects more than just the rider. Others may have to clean up the mess, and the consequences of reckless speed can be deadly. Let my story be a cautionary tale – don't be like me. Prioritize safety, wear the right gear, and ride responsibly. Life is too precious to gamble away on the allure of speed.

Back in the Saddle: Unleashing the Power of my New KTM on the Road!"
Just had my first long run after getting back into the groove, and I must say, "What's going on in my mind when I've got this bike?!" The power is incredible – a true testament to the engineering genius of KTM. I glance down, and I'm hitting 90mph like it's nothing. Second overall, but the real victory is in feeling the raw power beneath me.
Surprisingly, there's not much of a difference in weight compared to my trusty Honda Transalp 600, and the seat height remains consistent. It's the sheer power of the KTM that sets it apart. Today was a tester, and I'm hooked. The journey has just begun, and I can't wait to share the daily reels documenting the story of this transformation – from a Honda owner to a KTM enthusiast. 📌Exciting news! ROBIN passed his MOT with flying colors. Ready for 2024 adventures! 🏍️
Added photos to this post—remember the last ride before ROBIN broke down on the M4 near Bristol, 600 miles from home? It's been a challenging 2-year journey, but thanks to Matthew Forbes, we've overcome setbacks.
Facing dealership issues and delays (parts took 5 months!), reconsidering future KTM purchases. The lack of support and difficulties with dealerships led to mental health challenges.
Despite the hurdles, ROBIN is ready for races in 2024 and serious off-roading. The trusty Honda Transalp remains my choice for long adventures. Lessons learned make the journey worthwhile.

🌎✨ A Decade Ago in South America 🐎🏞️ Time flies, but the memories of my horseback journey through South America are forever etched in my heart. From the vast plains that seemed to stretch to infinity to the awe-inspiring mountains reminiscent of Mordor, every day was a new chapter in this incredible odyssey.
🤠 The people I met along the way transformed strangers into lifelong memories. Their warmth and hospitality, the diversity of cultures, and the resilience of the human spirit left an indelible mark on my soul.
🐑 One quirky detail that caught my eye was the ingenious use of sheepskin saddles by the locals. While it may be a humorous image on a motorcycle, on horseback, it was a game-changer, saving me from the dreaded chafing.
