We need good, committed people who are willing to fight for what’s best for Plum. Please consider joining us.

Tonight did not go the way that I had hoped. While I made significant improvements over the primary, it wasn’t enough. Nevertheless, I am proud of the campaign that I ran, and grateful for all of your support. In particular, I’d like to thank my wife Caitlin Collins Tuskan and daughter Emma for being with me every step of the way. Thanks as well to all of my family and friends that volunteered to help on Election Day or otherwise. It all means the world to me.

Perhaps more than anything, I’m disappointed that Plum will not have the benefit of the leadership of my running mates. Folks like Dave Odom, who has served capably as Council President. Michael Creighton, whose genuine concern for others is unmatched by most people I know. David Biondo for Plum Borough Mayor, who was ready to lead our Borough past divisiveness and empty rhetoric. And Justin Newman for School Board, Reneé Richardson for Plum School Director, and Melissa L Russell for Plum School Board, three people who sincerely cared about the well being and future of our children. It has been a sincere pleasure to run with each of you.

Until next time, Plum.

Well folks, this is it. I’ve walked a lot of neighborhoods and knocked on a bunch of doors. And I’m genuinely grateful for the opportunity to have talked to so many people here in Plum. This community has been an enormous part of my life for over 30 years, and it would be my privilege to serve as your next councilman. The polls open tomorrow at 7am and close at 8pm. I sincerely hope that I’ve earned your vote.

Infrastructure. Economic Development. Public Safety. Government That Works. It's a new day for Plum Borough. On November 2, vote Justin Tuskan for Plum Council.

Home I grew up in Plum, and when it was time for my wife and I to start our family, I knew I wanted to come home. As a member of Council, I will work to make our Borough one of the best places in Western Pennsylvania to live and do business.

8 battle for 4 Plum council seats 25/10/2021

Infrastructure, economic development, public safety, and engagement have been the hallmarks of my campaign since day one. Thanks to the Advance Leader for highlighting the race. Please check out the article and visit justintuskan.com to learn more.

8 battle for 4 Plum council seats There are four Plum council seats open as voters take to the polls in November. Two former councilmen, three incumbents and three newcomers make up the eight-candidate field for the council positions. On the Democratic side, candidates are Michael Creighton, Jennifer Lynn Pusateri, David Odom and Ju...

Plum Borough needs real leadership, not partisan lies and grandstanding. Instead of working for the betterment of our community, Mike Pastor, a sitting member of Council, is spreading falsehoods about the School Board candidates that I’m running with. Justin Newman for School Board, Melissa L Russell for Plum School Board, and Reneé Richardson for Plum School Director do not support teaching CRT in Plum classrooms. Mr. Pastor is the same individual that previously attempted to organize mobs to storm the homes of sitting School Board members because of disagreements over policy.

The men and women of Plum deserve better. Honesty, integrity, and dedication are absolute necessities in any elected leader. As your next Councilman, I promise to work as hard as I can for the betterment of everyone. While we may not always agree on everything, you can be assured that I will truthful and fair. If you’re tired of the antics of people like Mr. Pastor, I urge you to get out and vote on November 2!

I'll say this one time for everyone to see, share, and shout from the roof tops! Myself nor Justin Newman for School Board are in favor of teaching critical race theory in Plum School District. This is a graduate level course and is not age appropriate education for our students.

For those saying this, can I ask where this is coming from?!? Neither one of us has ever spoken to critical race theory as one of our platforms or has spoken in favor of it anywhere! What we are for is an inclusive and equitable curriculum that celebrates diversity. Is it the word diversity that scares you? This is speaking to anyone using critical race theory as an angle to take votes away from Justin and I. Diversity goes beyond race. Diversity encompasses everything including but not limited to race, culture, abilities, s*x, and age. Everyone should want a curriculum that embraces and celebrates diversity. If you don't, you can be leaving your own children out!

I whole heartedly hope this rhetoric is not because Justin and I are diverse candidates because we are the only ones mentioned by name when this topic comes up.

Justin, myself, and Melissa Russel are very open to any questions the community has for us. We have accepted a request for a forum from League of Women voters that no other candidates have responded to. You can email, message, or talk to us when you see us around Plum. Not just when we are knocking doors. We have kids in this community, so we are at various community activities most of the week and are invested! You will get more informed responses than talking about us in private groups we don't have access to.

If anyone is friends with Mike, please share!

Tonight David Biondo for Plum Borough Mayor, Melissa L Russell for Plum School Board, Reneé Richardson for Plum School Director, and I were out talking to the residents of Boyce Park Drive. We’re at our best as a community when we work together for the benefit of everyone. That’s exactly what we’ll do as your next Mayor, School Board Directors, and Members of Council.

19/10/2021

Grateful for all of the support that David Biondo for Plum Borough Mayor, Justin Newman for School Board, Michael Creighton, Reneé Richardson for Plum School Director, and I received tonight in Greendale. There’s so much that we want to do for our community, and it all starts with your vote. Two more weeks until Election Day - let’s go! justintuskan.com

16/10/2021

Unfortunately, over the next few days, you may see advertisements indicating that I don’t support law enforcement or first responders. This type of rhetoric is the exact opposite of what Plum needs. The men and women serving in local government should promote what's best for the entire community, not seek to divide us with cheap, partisan nonsense.

I support local law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS in their efforts to keep every member of our community safe. As your next councilman, I will work collaboratively with the VFDs to address manpower and equipment needs in a cost-effective fashion that does not compromise the safety of our community. justintuskan.com

Out tonight in Rustic Ridge with Justin Newman for School Board, Melissa L Russell for Plum School Board, Michael Creighton, and Reneé Richardson for Plum School Director. 07/10/2021

Hello Autumn Ridge! One of the newest neighborhoods in Plum, it’s also an area that, like many places in our community, is frequently forced to deal with stormwater issues. Plum must make improvements to its infrastructure to prevent flooding. That’s one of the reasons why I’m running for Council. Check out justintuskan.com/issues to learn more.

06/10/2021

I really enjoyed learning more about Plum’s volunteer fire departments with Michael Creighton and David Biondo for Plum Borough Mayor this week. To all of Plum’s volunteer firefighters: thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to our community.

05/10/2021

Out again today with Justin Newman for School Board, this time in my home neighborhood of Edgemede. As your next Councilman, I will work to make sure that local government listens to the people of our our community. To learn more, visit justintuskan.com.

Thanks to Michael Creighton for his hard work and dedication to our community.

Ah, school lunch! Most likely your child has come home talking about school lunch at least once this year. Just like everything else, the lunches have been affected by the supply chain.

Well, good news is here! Michael Creighton, a Plum Council candidate, met with food service today, and we will now be working with Sysco to secure nutritious food for our students! Thank you Michael Creighton! I'm sure this will help our food service department serve our students and district tremendously!

Thank you to everyone that came out and voted yesterday. Your support means the world to me. I also want to thank my wife Caitlin Collins Tuskan and my daughter Emma. Without you both pushing me, I never would have done this in the first place. And, of course, a huge shout-out to my fellow candidates on the ticket: Reneé Richardson for Plum School Director, Raymond Rall for Plum School Board, Jennifer Lynn Pusateri for Plum Council Woman, Justin Newman for School Board, Melissa L Russell for Plum School Board, and Michael Creighton. Your hard work and determination were really inspiring, and I’m so glad I’ve been able to get to know you all over the last several weeks.

The results from the Council primary show that we have a lot of work to do in the fall in order to make this campaign successful. But I know we can do it. Each and every one of us wants Plum to be one of the best communities in Pennsylvania to live and do business. By working together, we can achieve that goal. If I didn’t truly believe in everything that Plum has to offer, I wouldn’t have spent most of my life here. I look forward to meeting many more of you over the coming months and sharing my vision for the Borough.
