2023 was a big year in all our worlds. We both got married! Matt and I on the Fall Equinox. Jeff and Erin in December on their anniversary. Plus a sweet little baby named Edwin was born in June; Jeff and Erin's first bundle of joy! We want to thank all of our customers, new and old for supporting our small business. We do a 3 type fermentation process where we ferment the hot peppers, the sweet peppers with the carrots, as well as garlic infused honey for about a month. This creates a delicious flavorful combination that packs a punch! We have a mild and hot version available in small and large. β¨Introducing the faces behind EarthCraft π₯¬~ Jeff and Jen. We both met each other while working at The Light Cellar. We both have a passion for damn fine food - including the fermented kind. We eventually went on to pursue a new venture: crafting small batch sauerkraut and fermented hot sauce. That was now already a year ago - how time flies! The first batch we made together was November 2021. So this is in celebration of our one year anniversary!
We also want to introduce our amazing partners who have helped us so much along this journey! Matt and Erin: They are the faces behind the accounting/book keeping and logo/label design. They have been there for every kraut batch, chopping and massaging. We thank them so much for all their hard work, creativity and support!
We decided upon EarthCraft as a company name as we believe it best reflects our values, culinary ideas and outlook on food that nourishes the soul.
We strive to use the best ingredients we can find; while also supporting local suppliers when we are able. Some ingredients are even grown right in Jeff and Erins backyard. We want to nourish you with high quality ingredients - be it organic or unsprayed - while being as sustainable as possible. One of the best ways to enjoy the many benefits of our sauerkraut is to eat it raw. This way, you get even more of the super probiotic, gut health boosting benefits that our sauerkraut is known for. We ferment our sauerkraut for a full 6 weeks, allowing the healthy lactobacillus bacteria (think yogurt) to multiply, making it one of the most superior sources of this probiotic.
