Hi friends. My name is Don Brown. Many of you know me, but for those of you who don’t, allow me to introduce myself. I am a widower and I live in SouthEastern Pennsylvania. I am a person who feels their best when helping others. I am also a person looking for a kidney.
If you took just ONE moment to hear my story and interact with this post, you would play a role in helping to save my life.
My kidneys are failing due to exposure as a young adult to heavy metals while working in my family’s scrap metal business. In order to slow the progression of my kidney disease, I began a plant-based diet and a regimen of weight training and exercise which has enabled me to survive this long.
A living kidney transplant is my only viable course of treatment. With that, I can be blessed with a normal life expectancy for another 20 or more years and continue the work that I have done to improve and enrich the lives of others.

Everyday I am reminded how wonderful & good people truly are. Have you ever wondered about what your life might be like if you donated a kidney? The answer might surprise you.
"Living Donors are happier. I've met a LOT of donors in the last five+ years and if I had to choose one word to describe them beyond compassionate it would be happy. As moderator of a Facebook support group for donors and potential donors, I'm continually blown away by the inherent joy emanating from each one of them. I know from my own experience there's a euphoria that accompanies the act of living donation which is difficult to explain without sounding a little crazy. All medical expenses for donors are covered and if a donor ever needs a kidney themselves, they are placed at the top of the list.
Ned Brooks, founder of the National Kidney Donor's Association will handle logistics of living donors navigating the system.
It takes weeks to months to screen potential donors, so if you do sign up, don't be alarmed if it takes a while for the transplant center to screen you.
