Dylan's World - A Glimpse through the looking glass
Dylan's journey becoming an adult and no longer at school.
We will be sharing every day stuff about his health and well being, as well as hopefully some adventures he gets up to in part thanks to his NDIS funding and the fabulous Support Workers we have.

Going to be easier to access this year! ๐
๐๐๐จ, here at Kalbar Sunflowers we want everyone to be able to experience the joy of sunflowers because they are pretty blooming amazing. This year we will have an accessibility track amongst the sunflowers in a special area so that you can get close and create ever-lasting memories. If you have mobility issues, we will also have several dedicated buggies for you to be picked up from the car park area and taken to the main festival.
The Kalbar Sunflower Festival is on a working farm which grows other crops year round. Our farm is on sloping ground, so some parts of the farm are difficult for people with limited mobility. Like any outdoor areas, the ground may become muddy after rainfall, so a few areas can be slippery.
If you have any further accessibility queries, please contact us via email on [email protected]
Having a position change while chilling in the AC.
Someone is a happy and relaxed boy today. Sitting with his mum on the recliner
Afternoon relaxation while mum gets some computer work done

Not interested in being awake today.
Torture time. But for whom? Yeah it was for me, getting him in to the position and will be getting him back up again. ๐
Dylan has decided that the best thing to do today while mum is stuffing around at the gardening benches, is to sleep in the AC. At least I get to come in and cool down when I check on him ๐
Afternoon snuggles with my boy!
A stretch out on the mat on his right side for a change. He prefers his left side so we donโt get him over very often.
Lazy bu**er
Quick haircut before going out this morning! He has thick, fast growing hair and so much easier to look after with a buzz cut.
Someone really doesnโt want to get out of bed today
Merry Christmas! Luna giving Dylan his Christmas morning kisses
Nice stretch out the back.
This heat we are having is hard on Dylan. Doesnโt help we are also now living with his grandparents for a while and their house is so much harder to keep cool. Open plan houses suck unless they have good AC. here, we freeze in one area and then canโt get cool enough in another area. And his grandad is going to faint when the power bill comes in as he is a tight ass when it comes to running stuff. We have about 3 times the electrical stuff plugged in and letโs not even mention the AC and the fans and air purifiers ๐๐๐๐
Izzy has a shift there this afternoon. the first of a few we have lined up over the next couple of weeks. Dylan will be with us most of the time too
The MOSS P and C wrapping station kicks off on Monday 11th December and runs through to Christmas Eve. If you are shopping at Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre please consider stopping by to have your gifts beautifully wrapped for a gold coin donation for each gift wrapped. All funds raised go towards supporting our students.
The wrapping station is located near Target and the food court.
The boy does not want to wake up today!!!!
Mums lazy boy
Izzy and I took Dylanโs car out one day last week for a mercy dash to give a young lady a lift whoโs power wheelchair had broken down. It was pouring with rain and she had been stuck outside when Dylanโs former deputy principal reached out to us to see if we could help. Well we have since found that RACQ do have a service to assist in these events. Apparently itโs $60 a year. But very handy to know.

Well his sister and I got him in, and back out again, just. We wonโt be doing it again unless we have an able bodied assistant to help. He was very relaxed and enjoyed it.
Dylan has a couple of pieces of equipment that he no longer needs. Double bed that has hi/lo and the head rest and knee bend. Only has one side rail.
Pheonix Chair, large.
Still a lot of use left in both.
Message me any questions!
Pick Up Only! We are moving in a few weeks and do not have the time to be hanging around waiting for people or to answer silly questions ;-)
