For the Maasai, Loliondo is not just land—it's their heritage, their identity, and their home. Yet, the grip of foreign powers, first the British and now the Arabs, continues to threaten their right to self-determination. The term "Olarrabui," a Maa word meaning "the Arab," has become synonymous with fear, authority, and unchecked power. Whether it refers to Brigadier Mohamed Abdulrahim Al Ali, OBC, or any of their proxies, the word embodies the pain of a people living under a force larger than life, a force that seems to care little for their history, culture, or future.

The situation took a promising turn under President John Magufuli, who revoked OBC's license, signaling a stand against foreign domination and in favor of the Maasai’s rights. However, the current administration under President Samia Suluhu Hassan has unfortunately restored OBC’s license, a move that has reignited fears and tensions among the Maasai of Loliondo.

The self-determination of the Maasai people must be guaranteed. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has a responsibility to protect the Maasai from exploitation and reclaim their rights from those who seek to turn their ancestral lands into playgrounds for the wealthy elite. The Maasai have endured centuries of marginalization; it’s time for their voices to be heard and respected.

The legacy of President Magufuli, who took a stand for the Maasai by revoking OBC’s license, should be honored and upheld. The government must recognize that the true power lies not with foreign corporations but with the people who have called Loliondo home for generations. The struggle for self-determination in Loliondo is not just a local issue—it’s a fight for the soul of a nation, for justice, and for the dignity of an entire people. The Maasai of Loliondo must be free to determine their own destiny, free from the shadows of Olarrabui.

A Book that will help you to read faster, learn faster and think better 27/04/2021

“Ultimately, motivation is a set of habits and routines, guided by your values and your identity that you carry out every day.”

I have extracted this powerful quote from Jim Kwik’s epic book, ‘Limitless: Upgrade Your Brain, Learn Anything Faster, and Unlock Your Exceptional Life.’

What a book! Jim Kwik writes it in a conversational style that will appeal to most people since it doesn’t come forth as a one-way lecture. Read more about this book here:

Cameroon's Forest Dance 23/04/2021

The Baka Community Inhabits Congo Forest. There is a lot they can teach you:

The Baka don’t buy food from Le Bon Point supermarket in Cameroon or La Gastronomie supermarket in Chad. Rather, they pluck and scoop it from the forest – from herbs that give them fresh, organic vegetables; from the termite mounds that gift them with fresh proteins through winged termites; from the rivers that bless them with fresh fish; from the herbs that spice up their food and from the animals that roam the forest.

Lake Bogoria's Invisible Million Dollars 20/04/2021

Lake Bogoria is a Sleeping Giant of Great Wealth

For the centuries that they had been living at Lake Bogoria, they had amassed a mountain of knowledge that was often treated as irrelevant by our contemporary society. We need to respect their indigenous knowledge and treat them as the age-old custodians of Lake Bogoria and everything within it.
