We’re pleased to be launching a pioneering new project with the The University of Central Lancashire - UCLan to improve equality and diversity in hospice care.

We’re embarking on an innovative 18-month initiative to enhance the inclusivity and accessibility of inpatient and community services, establishing links with ethnic minority groups to gain a better understanding of the support and care that various communities require from hospices.

Grant funding has been awarded by Hospice UK to St Catherine’s, through a donation from the Masonic Charitable Foundation the national charity of the Freemasons.

A Christmas message from the members of Euxton Lodge!

Happy Christmas everyone!

Just as with everyone else and almost every other aspect of our working, leisure and social lives, COVID-19 has had a devastating effect. We have not been able to meet together since the start of this pandemic. It has been difficult but we have tried to hold onto some of the best of our traditions and values.

In the past, every year, Euxton Lodge’s December festive meal has provided companionship and entertainment for over 100 members and guests, including children and grandchildren with Christmas dinner, music and entertainment. We also hold a very successful raffle, raising hundreds of pounds for our widows and local charities.

This year we were not going to let “C” completely destroy that! At one of our regular weekly zoom meetings we managed to recreate some of our festive cheer, raised a glass and a mince pie, looked a bit silly, and ran an on-line raffle which actually raised even more than ever for those charities as well as raising many smiles!

Happy Christmas to everyone and let’s look forward to a better 2021!
