Hello! We are the Frock Kids! Jacob, Zeke, Mason and Sadie. We wanted to invite you to come to the Carroll County 4H Fair and Livestock Auction! We have been working hard on all of our fair animals.

Jacob has a few wood-working projects and is really excited for his charcuterie board he made with a resin inlay. He has a few handmade pottery pieces that he’s worked on in his art class. This year he will be showing his Red Angus Steer, lamb, and his pig. Jacob is in the Marching band at school and plays the drums!

Zeke made a wood baseball bat with his pappy on the wood-lathe this year. He also enjoys baking and has made some cookies for this fair. Zeke has a lamb and a pig this year. Zeke plays second and third base on his baseball team and also loves to hunt with his dad.

Mason is entering some artwork he made in his art class at school and is showing a market goat, lamb, and a pig this year. Mason always names his animals creatively- This year his lamb is named “Slicer” because it has a slice out of its ear from an ear tagging accident. His pig is named after Fezzik on the Princess Bride movie and his goat is named “Coffee Beans.” Mason’s ultimate passion is Baseball. He hopes to be a Savanah Banana player one day.

This year is Sadie’s very first official year in 4H! She has been a Clover for 3 years and has finally graduated to 4H! She will be debuting with a breeding heifer she named “Moo-ana” (Moana), a sheep and her pig, Buttercup. Sadie loves to dance and takes ballet and jazz classes. She also plays softball and wrestles!

All 4 kids are in the Hot Shots club and enjoy shooting archery and shotgun competitively. This year they will be in the MD state competition for archery.

We would like to invite you to the 2024 4H Market Stock Sale where they all will be walking their market animals through the sale on Friday August 2nd with the sale beginning at 5:00! You can makes all these yummy meals and more when you purchase from us! We have 1 hog left- we have someone who will split with you if you would be interested in a half. Hog goes in for processing by the end of the month. You can choose your cuts and thicknesses- you can even choose thick cut bacon! Get yours made into hams, chops, tenderloin, ribs, ground sausage, breakfast sausage, rope sausage, bacon, and scrapple! A half is around 100 lbs of meat approximately.

1st official day of summer break!

Yesterday our oldest turned 14! He and his daddy got the model G started and serviced and he got to drive it around on his own for the first time! Then some good friends visited and we got Rosie out for some cow kisses!

This weekend was the sheep workshop. We learned how to trim hooves and learned about lots of diseases that she can get and what to do if your lamb gets sick. 

Another busy day for our 4-Hers attending the Sheep Workshop hosted by the Carroll County 4-H & FFA Fair Sheep Committee. It was a great end with Estella giving hands on opportunities on how to be successful in working with your lambs!

We had a customer back out at the last minute- need to sell 1/2 (can be split up into quarters!) of a beef immediately! Beef already at the butcher- butcher waiting for your meat cut choices! Remember - it’s all the same price per pound- no matter what the cut! Ground beef is the same price as fillet mignon or brisket!!!! - pay us by the hang weight and pay the butcher the cut/wrap/freeze costs at pick up- it’s the most honest way we can do it.

Most of our kiddos were able to attend the swine workshop for 4H. They learned how to walk their pig and how to identify ear notches. It was neat! 🍀🐖

Sadie’s cow, Elsa, had a bull calf last night! Sadie will have her first show steer next year!

While volunteering at school this afternoon I overhear -

“Zeke what’s your favorite food?”
Zeke says “Steak! Medium/rare from our cows”

Now taking orders for fall beef! Spring is sold out.

This is our Crazy Gracie. She is a 9 month old border collie. Her favorite pastimes include grabbing the end of her leash and running away-so that you can’t catch her, carrying her ball around the yard back and forth like it’s her job, making all the chickens go into their coop-whether they like it or not, and finding chicken p**p in the yard 🤣😩.

BBQ brisket from our beef for dinner tonight! We smoked it and packed it away over the fall and now we get to enjoy it all year! Good meals are far less expensive and more healthy when you buy meat from a local farmer. Whether it’s brisket, roasts, premium cut steaks or burger- It’s all the same price per pound! Rosie’s learning not only how to nurse 1 but 2.

Zeke’s heifer, Rosie, just pushed out a second calf!!! Twins! One boy and one girl. They actually have 2 different birthdays! Mama is doing well and seems to be taking care of both of them.

Out checking a certain mama last night and this is where I found one of the babies sleeping. 😂

We have 1 thinking about it. But thinking she has a little bit longer to go than we originally thought.

Hmmmmm tough choices here 😂😂😂

Another boy! Betty had her calf this morning. I watched it all happened right outside the kitchen window as the kids were getting ready for school!!💕💕
