So proud of mum for sharing her cancer journey💕, to bring awareness for others before it becomes to late. Getting cancer can happen to anyone, and in mum's case, she got it twice and with 2 different types.
Mum, you're a true inspiration, always optimistic and you have taken this challenge on the chin like it is nothing. Cancer is just a word to you and it hasn't stopped you from living your life to the fullest. As you say. Think about it, but don’t worry about it".
I love your new found passion for tattoos 🦄 and everything that inspires you, you get the ink done!

When the Netherlands doesn’t have mountains 🏔, you need to improvise the training🥾 We are the cool runnings of mountains! . So this time, we went hiking in the dunes. During the hike, we were always talking about planning for that little extra more to give just in case and boy did we have to more than ever. What was meant to be an 11km hike through the dunes turned out to be a half marathon hike in the dunes. Lucky it was an amazing day, full of sunshine and lots of beautiful sights. We even had our own little cheerleader along the way! These charity event, have helped bring people together and share the passion of supporting others! A goal without a plan is just a wish. Plan to succeed!
Getting to the top of a mountain that is 5,800m takes a lot of planning, especially when you live in a country where there are no mountains 🏔 to train on🥲.So Leslie and I came up with a training plan, that covers all the essentials of climbing Mount Kili. Legs 🦵 , Core, Glutes, endurance 🏃♀️ and meditational 🧘♀️mindset. Can’t wait to get this training started!
So cool to present at the a tech Makers Amsterdam event check out the event and promote a worthy cause! Support a worthy cause and donate! ❤️
When I heard about a friend raising funds for a charity that is near and dear to him, and with the means of a fitness challenge, it only made sense that Fitness with Purpose got on board.
Scotty, an avid kilt wearing rugby coach and enthusiast is getting behind his childhood hero, to raise £1,000 for . The AID is an Inter-District exercise challenge with the aim to raise funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation
The Foundation originated from Doddie Weir OBE one of rugby’s most recognizable personalities. He earned 61 caps for Scotland during a successful playing career, represented the British and Irish Lions on their successful tour to South Africa in 1997, and won championships with his two club sides, Melrose and Newcastle Falcons.
In June 2017 the Scot revealed he was suffering from Motor Neuron Disease. From the outset, Doddie has been driven to help fellow sufferers and seek ways to further research into this, as yet, incurable disease. Since this time he has raised more than £7 million for MND research.
What is MND?
MND stops the messages from the motor neurones gradually reaching the muscles. This leads the muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste. It can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. Some people also experience changes to their thinking and behaviour. However, MND affects everyone differently. Not all symptoms will affect everyone, or in the same order. Symptoms also progress at varying sp*eds, which makes the course of the disease difficult to predict.
MND is life-shortening and there is no cure. Although the disease will progress, symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best possible quality of life.
There is a 1 in 300 risk of getting MND across a lifetime.

Normally when I run, I run with a purpose in mind, another charity or for those in need. This time this run was for me. My first 5k run since my injury last year. Was I nervous? yes. am I excited? yes. Tears fill my eyes knowing I could do it and that my injury didn’t come back to haunt me. I know my time wouldn't be the same but the thought of knowing I can run again was the most empowering thing for me. It's my run and at my pace!
Did you have another sleepless night where you woke up, yet again, at 3am and was not able to go back to sleep!😴
Whether you woke up from a noise outside, thoughts, to p*e or a snoring partner, once you’re awake there’s no going back. Now that you are awake and with your mind racing, you think nothing better than to look at your phone.📱 Now it's 5am🕔 and you think, well it’s almost the morning so I may as well stay awake and get ready for the day or you go back to sleep for another couple of hours. Either way, you know your day is going to be a write off because you are tired and can’t think straight. You don’t go to the gym, you drink copious amounts of coffee☕ and eat lots of carbs and sugars🍩🍫, just to get you through the day so that you can go to bed early and repeat the same thing. Overall you just don’t feel and/or look as good as you would like. You might even find that you put on weight if this becomes the norm. Does this sound familiar to you?
Well you’re not alone, this sleep pattern is common amongst many people and understanding your sleep cycle and healthstyle habits can be a way to obtain a healthy sleep cycle.
There are many ways that you may improve your sleep, including:
- Reduce the amount of water🍵 before sleep,
- Start to wind down💆♀️ 1 hour before sleep and allow time the body and mind to relax,
- Review eating habits🍝, is it causing you too much energy or integestion?
- Look at the timing of your exercise🏃♂️, does it wake you up in the evening?
- Refrain from social media 🌐in the evening or turn the screen to blue light filter,
- Examine and consult with your doctor the medication you are taking,
- Listen to calming music or apps that help promote sleep,
- And so much more.
Everyone's sleep pattern is different and requires self discovery to understand the root cause.
Just know you are not alone and you deserve a good night's sleep!

It's been awhile since I last posted. As my knee is still recovering from my run in September. It's been a slow recovery with plenty of patience and I can proudly say that I am running up to 5km again. It's not where I use to be but it's a great feeling to get the legs moving.
Whilst the body heals, it's time to train the mind and I am super excited to have enrolled in the Advanced Nutrition & Health Coaching course . This course will take up to 1 year to complete with the aim of gaining greater insight into the mind, body, food and coaching others to achieve their goals. Health, fitness and supporting others is my passion and so it only makes sense to go on this journey of discovery.
First course starts with Psychology behaviour change and wellbeing management.
Let the fun begin!💪👩🏼🎓
Numbers collected and track assessed. Some traditions don't change and still in denial that I won't be running tomorrow. Good luck ladies. @ Luzern, Switzerland
Good luck to these 2 beautiful ladies who will be running tomorrow. Such an amazing city to run and I am devastated that I won't be participating in the run given my knee is still on the mend. Instead I will be on the sideline cheering them on. The show must go on!
Also a great opportunity to raise awareness for
and . These causes help raise awareness and fight to find a cause for neurofibromatosis.
Good luck ladies and see you at the finish line!
@ Luzern, Switzerland
How time flies. This time last year I was celebrating with my friends in completing the . September was the month that really grew my passion with running. Completing my first half marathon and then backing it up 2 weeks later doing , followed by . Now running with friends is part of my DNA. It's something I live for. Challenging myself, exploring new and exciting countries and knowing I have friends who have the same passion and will see them at the finish line. It's also how FWP started.
Although I am resting until my knee recovers. I look forward to my next half marathon with my friends, ontinuing the journey that is and raise awareness with others.
There is no finish line.
@ Amsterdam, the Netherlands
Well that didn’t go as planned! And never should I expect it too. At about the 2k mark something didn’t feel right in my right knee but I pushed it aside, thinking it was just my body warming up. Mind over matter. Well at the 5k mark when collecting a water, my knee seized and I could no longer walk. I tried to run a few more times but with no success. So I pulled up, luckily to a nearby DJ and waited for the Red Cross to come and help. After a short discussion, my chance of winning, ok well, finishing the was over. As heartbreaking as it was, and yes there were tears, I pushed aside my frustrations and do the only thing possible until I was collected. I cheered the rest of the runners on and edged them on. “Leaker tempo!” “Hup Hup”. And once I got to the finish line it was straight to see who did an amazing job finishing the event in such heat! Well done Stella and everyone else that completed . Success! Well here’s hoping it’s not too serious and I will be back on the track soon.
Sorry I couldn’t finish the race for . Next 🏃♀️ @ A'dam
Dam by night (8km) ✅ and the 2nd Dam run with ❤️Such a fun and energetic event. High vibing with all the music hubs along the way and high fiving all the little local supporters. As soon as I started I realized I was going to get a PB, this run was more about being in the moment and grooving to the music. And when in such moments you realize how important it is that we look after our earth and it’s climate. Support in ensuring we can influence our politicians in making a difference to climate change.
Thank you for bringing our awareness to such a worthy cause @ Zaandam
Climate change is amongst us and believe it or not, it is impacting our planet Earth.
Scientists agree that we have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown, and we are in the midst of a mass extinction of our own making. As humans we are causing massive damage to the environment through our own doing and we risk causing the extinction of many life forms on the planet. Nowadays there is extensive media covering how climate change is causing a disruption to our way of living.
This is where Extinction Rebellion comes into play. Their purpose is to create a world that is fit for generations to come through political change, globally. They are an advocate in making politicians take action in addressing the climate and ecological crises to ensure that our future generations have a planet that is habitable.
It is my dearest and beautiful friend Edi, who I have been training with, over the last 2 months in preparation for Dam to Dam, who has brought the attention of this global organisation. Unfortunately, Edi is unable to attend Dam to Dam this year, however I still want to raise awareness for this important purpose and complete the day and night run on her behalf.
Edi this one's for you!

Sometimes it’s nice just to take a run with no expectations. No care for the pace, distance or where you’re going. Just enjoy the scenery and run for the sake of running. What a beautiful way to start the day. @ Amsterdam, Amstel River
