This patient came in to see us with:
🔹Class III bite
🔹Narrow arches
🔹Poor profile and airway
The biggest goal for Casey's treatment was some major profile changes as well as improve his airway function. Casey opted for double jaw surgery in order to accomplish these goals, which usually requires braces for a few months before and after surgery.
He began his treatment with an MARPE, and completed a few months of expansion before we put his braces on. This allowed us to get the profile and airway changes that we needed in the beginning. We bonded upper and lower Damon braces, our goals before his surgery were to increase upper arch support, improve his sleep apnea and breathing problems, and functionally improve his bite.
After 8 months in braces, Casey had a "three-piece Le Fort" surgery, done by Dr. Porter at . The aim of this surgery was to both skeletally widen the upper jaw in three segments and bring it forward. After a successful surgery, Casey was in braces for a few more moths while we worked to finish bringing everything into alignment. In just 18 months we were able to help Casey achieve these truly life-changing results that will benefit all areas of his life!
