I hope that one day our love for ourselves, our planet, and our future will outweigh the love for gimmicks and novelty. Each year in the UK, over 50% of perfectly good household items end up in a landfill. That’s 1m tonnes of CO2 emissions that could be avoided by not recycling and processing, not counting the emissions that could be prevented by not having to manufacture new stuff. I hope that one we will all learn to love things twice. Shop secondhand, love twice!
