Bio-TEC immune test

Bio-TEC immune test

SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) antibody profile is a highly sensitive assay to measure immune response in a drop of blood (finger-prick sample).

The profile measures both natural viral immune response and antibody levels (immunity) for vaccine surveillance.

The graphs below show the antibody levels using Nucleocapsid and Receptor Binding domain datasets on a Maltese cohort (n=1058) that is Vaccinated (full dose; no booster) that were never found to be SARS-CoV-2 positive with a PCR test (PCR -ve). The top graph is a data set showing the active immune response in individuals sampled within 90 days after their full vaccination and the graph below is between 90-300 days after full vaccination. The percentage of individuals eligible for a booster vaccination after 10 months is 2.7% and 1.2% after 3 months. Get tested to take an educated decision for YOUR protection and health.

Antibody levels decrease with time. Individuals with levels below the threshold are eligible for a booster. Note that a viral infection will boost the immune system.

Vaccination DOES NOT eliminate the possibility to be infected. It is recommended for your own health to prepare your body for a viral infection. It decreases the infectiousness of the virus by ensuring a rapid and effective immune response, decreasing viral titers and periods of infectiousness.

The nucleocapsid antibody level indicates a previous infection with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus.

The graph shows the distribution of 935 unvaccinated Maltese individuals collected April-July 2021. 10% have been previously infected and shown in RED. The orange bars are borderline positive (have been infected more than 8 months prior to sampling). The blue bars are negative for Nucleocapsid antibodies.

This antibody is negative in vaccinated individuals that were not previously infected.

The receptor-binding domain antibody level is increased both by vaccination and due to the previous infection by SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus.

The test involves a finger-prick, collection of a drop of blood and the result is available within a few days. The sample can be taken at home and posted to the lab, or you can ask for a clinic appointment to learn more. The result is quantitative, informing YOU of the actual antibody levels to take an informed decision.

Measure your SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) antibody levels before your next vaccination or check if you had a previous viral infection (56% of infected individuals are asymptomatic).
