In a year of working with this campus math team and principal, we:
šidentified and analyzed the challenges, strengths, and needs of the campus

Iām blessed to have too many in my life to count!
We canāt put people in team leading or team facilitating positions without doing the groundwork that will help them (and ultimately the people they are leading) be successful!
ā¦ wait- correctionā¦
We CAN put people in these roles without the groundworkā¦ but we will experience undesirable side effects as time goes on, leaving NO ONE feeling or valued. š¬
I am passionate about this work- the work of building up reflective who know themselves well, can practice mindset strategies to help them lead well, and have the skills to facilitate meaningful and cast vision for teams!

The truth is that every leader loses sight of what itās like to be a classroom teacher. Itās a part of our reality. You can be empathetic based on your past experiences, but itās not exactly the same.
And thatās okay- your brain space is now being utilized in a different way and with a different perspective (one you didnāt have as a classroom teacher).
And itās also important to take time to gain back a little perspective. It only comes with benefits! Trust building, understanding learning gaps, a more granular view of how to move teams forward, and more!
Iām going live to talk about one way to do this! Itās called āteach weekā. Comment ālinkā for the link to this episode! š
