THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING A GIRL CHILD.

While I was gisting dad about the high rate of divorce in our society today,he told me about a divorce case he was handling. He said the man insisted on getting divorced even after he had pleaded with him not to. I was amazed and wanted to know why he strongly want to leave his wife,so I asked Dad what was his complain and he said " He wants to divorce his wife because she cannot give him a male child, the wife gave birth to five girls already." I was shocked to hear that,I was expecting to hear something different and captivating. I began to ask Dad if the woman was responsible for birthing only girls for him.what was wrong with having plenty female children. And dad said the young man is afraid of losing his ancestral name,so he wants to get a new wife that can give him a male child.
I was angry and sad,how a man could divorce his wife for not bearing female children.
If a woman can be divorced for not bearing female children,then there is need to advocate for the girl child.

GIVE THE GIRL CHILD EDUCATION

I was opportune to teach a school after secondary school, although it was a primary school. There was this girl in my class that was so intelligent,she knew almost everything I was teaching them. Because of the soft spot I have for intelligent people,I began to like this little girl.
There was this week the school decided to drive home all the pupils that have not paid their fees and she happened to be among them. After some days I was beginning to feel her absence in the class,so I asked the head teacher about her. The head teacher told me she had not paid her fees yet,I felt sad because I couldn't help her.
During the closing period I saw her dad,he came to pick her younger brother from pre nursery. So I decided to ask him about his daughter. I greeted him and asked why the daughter has not paid and her little brother has paid. And he confidently told me "I paid for only my son because his fees are more important than his sister's own,I will paid for her if I see any free cash." I was shocked that a man could still believe and say this in this century. I thought it was only our grandmother's era the girl child was not given education because of their believe system.
The world has gone beyond what it use to be,so the girl child needs to be educated. If a father could still bring up gender in paying his children's fees,then there is still need to advocate for the girl child.

FORGET EQUALITY, WHAT CAN YOU SOLVE IN THE SOCIETY AS A GIRL CHILD.

I was in the sitting room watching TV with my dad,and you know what that means? Compulsory news. Normally,once the channel is changed to news I leave the sitting room back to my room. But today was different,I stayed back because I saw one headline about Ngozi okonjo Iweala as the first female director of world trade organization (WTO). I was so happy about it,so I started gisting dad that I love that woman so much. After gisting him,he said something that caught my attention and got me thinking deep. He said " This are women that has offered the society something." And I was like what has she offered. And he said "she has solved a lot of problems in the Nigeria economy,so she deserves that position." After hearing this words from Dad,I realized a girl child must offer something to the society to be heard. I discovered she has done the work and gotten result so she deserves to be heard.
To every girl child out there,what do you have to save humanity. Continue to ask yourself this question until you get an answer from yourself.

WHEN YOU MO**ST A GIRL CHILD YOU ALSO SILENT HER VOICE.

While in primary school,I had this friend called Anita Ayodeji. She was one of my beautiful class mate I know. I could still remember her long dangling hair,she had a very sharp beautiful eyes.we we're just class mates,but later became friends due to an incident in our class. Everyone in our class usually make jest of her because she was always quiet and looking harmless. I constantly wonder why she was so quiet and never plays with anyone of us. I felt it deep down in my heart that there was something wrong with her so I decided to start getting close to her. At first it was not easy but later agreed because he couldn't reject my friendship.
One Friday morning,I came to school very early around 7:20. I entered my class and the only person I met was Anita. I was so happy to see her but she had a sad look on her face,I immidiately asked her what was wrong and she said she was fine but I insisted on knowing what was wrong and she started crying. She asked me to promise her that I will never tell anyone about what she is going to tell me,so I promised her. She told me her dad came to her room one night and told her to remove her pant and he removed his own trouser and did something painful and bad to her.she told me her her daddy has done that to her several nights when her mummy and little brother is not around.she further said her dad promise to kill her if she tells anyone about it. And she started crying silently,I felt helpless too as a child. I wiped her tears and told her she was going to be fine.
I went home that day looking Moody and sad,I wanted to tell my mom about it but I could not because Mom will begin to question me endlessly and I had also promise her not to tell anyone.so I decided to keep quiet about it
Anita never returned back to school the next term,I asked around and nobody knew her where about.

So remind yourself everyday that being heard is not about being a woman.

If you don't have what to offer the society as a girl child,you can't be heard.

It is time to be heard.
