Finally I can get my boots back on following having a minor op on two toes! Thanks so much to Patsy Bartram for keeping Joey in top form. He is just pinging! Now to work on my fitness so I can keep up with Joey, he was on fire today.
Wishing the pony team safe travels to Le Mans. So disappointed we can't be with you. Sadly last weekend Joey knocked himself which has resulted in a very slight swelling to his fetlock. Thank fully X rays show nothing major and he should be fine with a couple of weeks rest. Gutted for Sofia & the team at Maddy Frewin Dressage who have produced Joey so perfectly, he was ready to take on the world, in top top form , they have done a fantastic job. Sofia Oliver-Games have the best time with Caddy and Joey will be ready for you when you get back. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cu6PmbJIwf7/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Somerford Premier League: Hester and Fame take Grand Prix top spot Top talent was on display at Somerford Park Premier League in Cheshire (26 – 28 May 2023) with Carl Hester dominating the Grand Prix with his two talented rides and Charlotte Dujardin returning from maternity leave demonstrating she’s not lost any of her competitive edge.
The face of a very clever Joey Pony! Massive achievement by Sofia Oliver-Games to get over 73% and taking the win in her first team test at Addington premier league. We dropped Joey off at Maddy Frewin Dressage on the way home from the Winters so Sofia could get in a few rides before the competition. After just 5 rides they were both amazing, I could not be more proud of my special boy. We have worked on building his strength over Winter and it's paid off as he looks amazing. All credit to Sofia adapting to a new pony so quickly, a few miscommunications in the individual, which came first, but she swiftly ironed those out! Thank you Sofia for riding my best boy so beautifully!
On Wednesday we headed over to the Winter Championships at Hartpury. 4th year running and as usual Joey was a complete star and I am a little shocked & delighted to announce that we came 3rd in medium GOLD freestyle! Wow just can't believe how much stronger he is now than last summer. Winter training has done him the world of good. As always none of this is possible without a great team behind me. Mum works her socks off so we can compete nothing is possible without her dedication. Team Patsy as always keep Joey in tip top form and is just the best yard to be on as everyone is so supportive. Joey has the best care from Lisa Brooke & Mark Brewster making sure he stays supple and has the best dancing shoes! Thank you to everyone who supports me & Joey too its lovely to see all your messages.
Joey on 🔥🔥🔥today in training!
Important info for any U21 riders wanting an international freestyle. Mum is going to be at Maddy Frewins yard in Mavern on Feb 19th. Its a private clinic but they have opened up a couple of places and if you need to get an FEI freestyle sorted for this season then this is a great opportunity as Maddy has loads of experience and has been on every U21 European team! Mum as you know does music for all levels including Olympic riders. My last music got 9s! On top of that its a bit cheaper than normal as its a private yard! Dressage UK U21 members also get a discount so contact us if you want to book. https://bookwhen.com/equivisions/e/ev-s4l7-20230219100000

Thank you so much to British Dressage - North & East Region for a fabulous evening at Tankersley Manor. I had a fabulous birthday celebration topped off by being presented with the Fosters Trophy awarded to a developing North & East region rider (Under 18 at the end of the calendar year) having notable international success in 2022. Also a certificate for all of our international competitions. Special thank you to Jo Byrne for my balloon! I loved it.
Fabulous year! Le Mans & the Europeans, two trips abroad with my special boy. Lots of championships, we have achieved so much together and had a fantastic time. Thanks so much to my Mum & team Patsy. Who knows what next year will bring but I know I have the best team behind me.
Pretty certain I am in Mums good books today! Super happy with a PB 79%! Mums fab music & floor plan getting the praise it deserves .
Joey nap time!
Haha! Joey not impressed being Dorothy!
our tests from Arena Uk last week. Delighted with our scores from the FEI & List 1 judge 73% & 72& in the team & 72% & 71% in the individual
Quick ride before college. Good boy Joey, not too rusty as haven't ridden him for week as Mums been in Scotland.
So Keysoe was our last CDI and it was a show of firsts for us. We got our first 9 for Joeys enormous extended walk and our first 2 For rein back which was a bit mean as the other judges thought it was worth a 5 . We still got a great score though to finish forth on 68.5% with great comments from the judges and he gave me a great feeling in the arena. The individual started really well but then in the walk Joey started to faff with his tongue like something was annoying him in his mouth. In the extended walk he managed to get his tongue over the bit (another first!) and when I asked for the canter he got upset so I retired straight away . By the time we left the arena he had sorted his tongue out and was absolutely fine! Sadly that meant we could not do the Freestyle the next day ! Not the ending to our international journey we had hoped for but thats horses.
