An enchanting morning of culture and unity at our Flag Ceremony! 🌎✨

Today, we didn't just raise the flag; we also raised the bar on celebrating the rich and diverse traditions of the ASEAN month. Each department went above and beyond, adorning themselves in the most magnificent ASEAN attires, beautifully reflecting the colors.

The photo ops per department were moments to cherish, capturing the memories we're creating together. As we keep these photographs, let us also acknowledge the message they send that together, as a team, we can harmoniously create and achieve greatness.

Moreover, SPA music and dance majors, Z-Club Officers and members and the CNHS Choir of Sir Morgado owned the spotlight with their mesmerizing performances! Their passion and talent shined through on stage. A standing ovation for our remarkable performers!

Thank you to the CNHS-BSP and CNHS-GSP, select SPA Students of Ma’am Nida Jemima Torino and Sir Vincent Kier Dammay, the Choir members of Sir Claudio Morgado Jr., and the ZClub for making the Flag Ceremony bright and successful.

In addition, the select Grade 10-Copper Students headed by Sir Marlon Carag, Social Studies Teachers headed by Sir Benedict Asino, Social Studies Club Officers and Advisers, SSLG Officers and Advisers, the Department Heads, teachers and staff of the great CNHS and to Ma’am Carmen A. Acain our school principal, united together to make today’s flag ceremony a splendid one.

“SSC partners with DENR Region II, enmpowering the youth to environmental awareness and protection”

Social Studies Club holds an environmental symposium with the theme “Promoting Environmental Awareness: Educating the youth of Environmental Protection" at the Cagayan National High School-JHS Conference Hall, Monday, January 31.

Resource speakers from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region II, Ralffe C. Concepcion and Ricky C. Sibbaluca discusses about the what's and how's of environmental awareness and protection with CNHS-JHS' club and class presidents to attain the goal of the said symposium by strengthening their knowledge and environmental awareness and to encourage their fellow students and officers to take action not only in the proper segregation of waste but also the recycling of waste.

Forester Ricky C. Sibbaluca discussed how important solid waste segregation is and encouraged students to dispose their waste properly and recycle as much as possible.

"Student leaders like you should promote proper waste segregation, the 5 R's, zero waste, and environmental education; be a part of the advocacy, be environmentally conscious, and be the change!" said Regional Youth Desk Officer Ralffe C. Concepcion.

Lloyd Ryan T. Narag, Supreme Student Government consultant, tackles the implementation of what the youth leaders of CNHS can do to attain the mission of symposium: “Tumindig para sa Kalikasan”.

"We have to bring out the best in ourselves to not only make an awareness but to advocate and make a difference" SSG Consultant Lloyd Ryan T. Narag stated.

The symposium also includes games and prizes. The event included not only lessons, but also advocacies that students would later put into action. Word structure games, implying what students learned by sorting trash into appropriate bins. SSG Consultant Lloyd Narag also designed games that required students to find solutions to the scenarios.

The event was organized by the Social Studies Club led by the President, Arianne Joy E. Dumlao and club officers with the help of the club advisers, Marissa D. Tabao and Madelene M. Acabo.

🎄FILIPINO CHRISTMAS STARTER PACK 🎄

Every Filipino looks forward to the Christmas season. As early as September, everyone begins to feel the Christmas mood.

On September 1st, Christmas music will be played nonstop on FM radio. They begin to adorn the streets, parks, and shopping centers. The majority of homes are prepared to erect their Christmas trees and lanterns.

If Americans enjoy decorating Christmas trees, Filipinos enjoy lighting lanterns. Everyone wants to have a fancy Christmas tree, but the majority of people end up building their own because they cannot afford to buy one; simple decorations will do. Some students create lanterns at school as their projects and bring them home.

Every year, municipalities hold a parade to display their Christmas or lantern decorations. Shopping is usually a part of Christmas, but for most Filipinos who can’t afford to buy presents, they sure will prepare dishes that would get everyone together on Christmas Day.

There are shops that sell "p**o bumbong," "hot pandesal," and several native specialties, and people typically eat these foods after attending the "Misa de Gallo" or midnight mass.

FLAG CEREMONY | 10-24-2022

Social Studies Club together with the HI-Y Club and Boy Scout of the Philippines CNHS-JHS leading the flag ceremony to mark the end of October.

During the month of October is also the celebration of the United Nations Week, and here is a reminder from the Social Studies Club:

The United Nations (UN) has one central mission, which is to maintain international peace and security. It plays an important role in using diplomacy, good offices, and mediation.

As students, we must learn to recognize and appreciate the United Nations because:

"The United Nations is our one great hope for a peaceful and free world"- Ralph Bunche

FLAG CEREMONY | 10-17-2022

In the month of October, we also celebrate Consumer Welfare Month wherein the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will carry this year's theme: "Sustainable Consumerism in the Digital Age" with the aim of boosting advocacy for sustainability and promoting mindful consumerism, especially when it comes to online purchases of products and services.

As consumers, we have the right to a healthy environment to live and work. Yet, we must also be aware of our responsibilities to uphold sustainability and to consider the environmental effects of our consumption.

This Consumer Welfare Month, let us promote sustainability and know your rights to consume.

We only celebrate and take part in raising awareness in this particular even every October, but let's practice it everyday by breaking the cycle, bringing down barriers, help build a safer community, and be a part of the solution.
