Happy World Poetry Day! One of the many things I love about novels-in-verse is the challenge to say so much using so few words. Here, Olivia shares how her excitement to spend time with Eden after school can't be contained. The enormity of the feeling, and the very real confines of the school day, make this moment feel so middle school to me.

Here's a BTS look at where I write! A few fun facts: my writing desk belonged to my grandfather and my dad before it was mine. On the wall above Weasley, I have a Mary Oliver poem, a painting of Philly, and my first ever print publication (in the Boston Globe's magazine). Since I have some new followers here, let me re-introduce myself. I’m Kate Fussner, the author of THE SONG OF US, coming to you May 30, 2023 from HarperCollins/Katherine Tegen Books.
