Happy birthday to the man that keeps my husband buff and his belly full, and who keeps me lean and hungry. You’re an awesome coach and we wouldn’t want to have anyone else torture us. 😜 j/k
Fun night with great peeps! (See you at Nationals !)
2nd Swiss Grand Prix is in the books under the great chairmanship of Kathi Fleig & her team lead by Swiss super coach Dagmar Simmen . Great to see my friend and MC All Time great . Other pictures are my friends from .schweiz Swiss bodybuilding legend Hans Peter Runner .ch & Christian Billinger .billinger. Nice to meet future super star and Olympian Fabian Mayr . What a great event , looking forward to an even bigger 2022.
Great legends in the history of bodybuilding, ladies and gentlemen...Jean Pierre F*x and Nasser El-Sonbaty!!!
As a teenage bodybuilder I asked a guy with huge arms how to train my arms . To my disappointment he told me that he barely trains his arms bc they get to big then he added something I will never forget . He said do 6 sets of heavy barbell or dumbbell curls weekly between 8-12 reps each set . If you really do every set to muscle failure and your arms don’t grow you just not made for this sport. It’s a bit simplified but he did have a point . Here to my regular arm routine.
1)Dumbbell or barbell curls 2 sets 8-12 reps (2nd set was often a drop set of 7/7/7 reps)
2)Machine curls 2 sets 1. set 8-12 reps 2. set 21er set with whole motion first , upper 30% second and lower 30% to finish . The reason I finish with lower was bc that was the part I wanted to improve most .
3)Hammer curls 2 sets 12-15 reps
During certain times in my career I did hit arms twice a week bc I always considered it a weakness
The 2021 Olympia is in the books and here’s my analysis. Certainly it’s not like I had a prime seat and can only judge from watching it on pay per view what can be a bit distorted . First my placing
1)Ramy 2)Brandon 3)Hadi 4)Walker 5)Bonac 6)Rodriguez 7)Valliere 8)Labrada 9)Akim 10)Roelly
Had Brandon slightly ahead after the prejudging but it turned out he was 1 point behind . Ramy was about 5-10% better at the Finale and did just enough to win since Brandon was a bit better Friday night . Hadi was sensational and I would have no problem if he wins the whole show . Sometimes he looks a bit on the light side against Ramy and Brandon which are Ib 40-80 heavier. Hadi was great. Hunter who placed fourth is possibly the most balanced athlete up there but was off and a sweaty mess up there. He looked pretty good for a couple of minutes when drying off his sweat but fell apart every time into a few poses. Nick looked great and deserved 4th in my opinion. It’s going to be interesting to see what will happen to his physique in the next couple of years. Bonac was good but not great , his legs especially hamstrings where not where they used to be although a bit improved from last year. Like Nick being a bit blocky prevents him from having s change against the top 3. Ian was off but I’m not surprised after several shows in a short time. Even off he deserved 7th place after a great year. Rodriguez grew on me as the show went along , great flow , had him in the top 6. Akim was clearly Off from last year but will be back . Roelly is a bit slighting and his old weakness the mid section came back especially in the finale . It was a great Olympia and from what I saw great judging. Looking forward to next year with Ramy trying to win number 3 and get in line with legends like Sergio Oliva and Frank Zane .
2021 Prejudging of the Mr O is in and here’s what I saw . I’m not in Orlando just watched it online. As much as I understand the need for the great organizers of the event to put up a show I think it would be better once the comparisons start to just drop a curtain and stop the seizure lighting which at times drove me almost crazy. Due to the lack of great pictures I’m not going to post a lot of pictures so if you weren’t there or didn’t watch it don’t comment other then saying hello but if you did watch it please tell me your opinion. I’m not going to go with what the judges saw and I know that many of the placing are off from the way the guys where lined up. Battle for the first place between Brandon and Ramy reminds me a lot of the prejudging in 2001 where Cutler was comfortably ahead but a much improved Ronnie came back in the finale to edge out Jay by a hair and that’s how I saw it . In my opinion Brandon is leading against Ramy but not by much and I know Ramy will come back strong tomorrow. Third place I saw between Hadi and Nick Walker , would give the edge to Hadi but Nick was also pretty impressive and brought about 95% of his wining physique from the Arnold’s. Fifth is place is going to Bonac and sixth could be almost anybody . Loved Hollingshead although the judges have him closer to 10 . Roelly looked good but not great , Ian was off but possibly still good enough for sixth . Akim unfortunately missed the mark and is closer to 10th then 6th. Don’t understand the Hype about Hunter Labrada who was a sweaty mess but pushed vehemently by the judges as far up as fourth . Myself I don’t have him better then 10th. The prejudging left me with more questions then answers and I know there’s still a long way to go and many things can change tomorrow. How did you see it ?
Finale for my girl Guadalupe Guerra on her first national show the Amateur Olympia in Orlando. With your talent and dedication you will get that pro card real soon. Thank you also to her great posing coach Tamara Haddad .
Prep for the 96 Olympia . This was about 10 days out being ready . The Mr O is coming up in a week with a great lineup . Who do you guys have in the top 6 . Here’s my top 5 Ramy , Brandon , Hadi , Nick , Ian and ? There’s still Hunter , Nathan , Akim , Roelly ?
The NPC USA championship 2021 is in the books and it didn’t go our way this time. Although Jeremy Fontanet placed second in the bodybuilding super heavyweight losing by 1 point to the new IFBB pro Ben Pollack we’re very disappointed that we couldn’t get the job done . Jeremy is climbing up the ladder and will eventually win. From a 5th place at the Amateur Olympia to being 3rd last year and 2nd this year it’s just a matter of time with his kind of dedication to the sport . Let’s talk about my other competitors which did not place well. I take full responsibility for there performances . Not that qualifying and competing at the USA championship itself isn’t a great achievement which everybody can be proud of but we’re not here to get lost in second and third callouts . First my wellness competitor Kimberly Mora Stultz .wellness . After a brilliant win at the California State championship 6 weeks ago we lost track and after the initial rebound and to much weight gain I could not help her to get back into the shape necessary to succeed on this level . We brought about 80% of the Cal and that’s on me. Our bikini competitor Pamela Perez didn’t place this time . After a great 2020 season with 2 wins and a 6th place at the USA we failed to make the necessary off season gains to go from good to great. Both girls are great and will rebound from this . We’re not only defined by our wins we are defined also how we come back from defeat . Everybody involved in this has to dig deep and take our lesson from this and I sure will . Sometimes I’m just to concerned over losing clients and to nice but nice doesn’t always get the job done and I will take a serious look about my approach. To all of you competitors reading this , how much do you really want this is the key question when competing on top level , are we willing to put in everything necessary to succeed ? If not there’s enough people out there who will , always be aware of that .

Great showing and much improved Jeremy Fontanet in the super heavies at the USA Championship. My guy being center stage for most of the prejudging . We will sure keep fighting to the end for his well deserved pro card.
