Wow I can’t believe how long it’s been since I last posted but there is a good reason….a baby is on the way! Between my day job and the pending new arrival I’ve unfortunately had to put Brume and Luster on the back burner. For now our Etsy shop will be on vacation mode while I take an extended maternity leave but we will be back!!

I haven’t shown my face on here in a while and thought it was time (well I haven’t shown my face anywhere lately with the masks but here I am last year at a holiday market pre-Covid and pre-masks!) A few fun facts about me: my full-time day job is a marketing coordinator for a large national general contractor, I am a volunteer dog-walker for rescue dogs, and I speak fluent Italian because I lived in Rome for almost 8 years!⁣

One year ago today I learned how to weave. ⁣

Wow is it really only one year since then!? It definitely seems like enough has happened for 10 years. But here I am a year later with a growing business, an Etsy shop that is still getting orders, and several markets under my belt. ⁣I think that is definitely something to celebrate!!

I often struggle with finding the right thing to say in difficult situations. While I may not have words to express my sadness over the hate, racism, and bigotry that is still present in 2020 I will be watching and listening and doing my best to learn and find more ways that I can ensure that the next generation will not have to live through the same struggles.

In my attempt to create more unique designs I found myself curious about using mixed materials. There are so many macrame plant hangers out there that I decided I would not only create the hanger but the vases as well!⁣

This is my first batch of hand poured cement vases and I am loving them! I bought several colors to mix with the cement and can’t wait to try more combos! ⁣

This might not be my usual craft but since I have the right tools I figured I should use them during this crazy time! ⁣⁣

I now have reusable cotton masks for sale in the Etsy shop. They have adjustable straps that go around the back of your head making it more comfortable than the ones with elastic, especially if you have to wear if for a longer time. They also have 22g wire at the nose for a more custom fit and an open pocket if you want to add a filter. Each one is $10. I have these 4 fabrics for now and a few more arriving next week. ⁣⁣
