Today's artist talk was an incredible conversation by black women and about black women in the arts. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of these beautiful women , their artistry and their perspectives ❤️

My 2nd opening reception this month! The pieces exhibited were outstanding!

These are the moments that excited me. The representation, occupying space. Today she came to the gallery it was able to truly see herself.

Yesterday's opening reception was a great success! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our first Ypsi exhibition ❤️

Exhibit Opening Announcement:

We are so excited to share our opening date for our upcoming art exhibition, "The Embodiment of the Black Woman: Infinite Possibilities." Join us on Saturday, January 7th, 2023, from 12PM to 3PM to experience this exhibit at the Soft Gallery in Ypsilanti, Michigan

We, as black women, wanted to take the opportunity to bridge the gap between art and the narratives of black women. We chose to be an active part of the conversation and work to create a space for dialogue, exploration, and celebration.

We both hope that this project will be meaningful to all who experience it, regardless of race, gender identity, or socioeconomic status. We look forward to showcasing the many facets of black womanhood and furthering our mission of creating a more inclusive art world.

We kindly invite you all to join us for this experience and encourage you to share it with your friends and family members. We can't wait to meet everyone!

Fun fact about this portrait. With this we only took one photo. With the photo from yesterday (Day 26), we only took three. I met a photographer a years ago who told me even though I was shooting digital to move as if I was shooting on film. To be mindful of my captures. really focused on that the last few days again.

I know a lot of school psychs that only have the bandwidth to do evaluations and write reports and facilitate meetings. And I feel very fortunate that counseling is one of my responsibilities with this internship. I'm pretty sure counseling days are going to be my favorite days ever. ❤️🙏🏽
