A cypress tree rises from the dried lake bottom of Henderson Lake during the man-made drawdown. This drawdown should improve the health of the area when the waters return in late winter.
For this image I was on the lookout for a well shaped cypress tree and this one caught my eye. I positioned my camera so I could create a starburst along the trunk. I tell you what, I’m usually in a kayak trying to do this, and being on dry ground is soooo much easier to work from. LOL! There weren’t any clouds in the sky for additional drama, so I filled up the top of the frame with the stretching branches. I hope you like it!

Being green is not only recycling…but up-cycling. One of my recent treasures from an estate sale updated for my B to use as a helper stool. I of course had to use this adorable plant fabric!!
With the last cold snap (thank goodness it was a quick one….I’m not ready!!) I am grateful for the landscape plant blankets “Plankets”! There are several other brands but I find these extremely great! 2 years ago when we have the 2 weeks of frozen precipitation my plants stayed under these… The only ones I lost were the ones where my substructure failed and the frozen precip touched the plants. I only lost 3 out of a gazillion succulents!!
Keep an eye out! I’m planning on a plant pop-up soon!
