A few wise words from CS Lewis (written about the feared atomic bomb in 1948)... just replace the words “atomic bomb” with “coronavirus” and I think you’ll see what I saw... 📝
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It’s now clear that COVID-19 is a deadly serious global pandemic, and all necessary precautions should be taken. Still, C. S. Lewis’s words—written 72 years ago—ring with some relevance for us. Just replace “atomic bomb” with “coronavirus.”
▶️▶️▶️
In one way we think a great deal too much of the atomic bomb. “How are we to live in an atomic age?” I am tempted to reply: “Why, as you would have lived in the sixteenth century when the plague visited London almost every year, or as you would have lived in a Viking age when raiders from Scandinavia might land and cut your throat any night; or indeed, as you are already living in an age of cancer, an age of syphilis, an age of paralysis, an age of air raids, an age of railway accidents, an age of motor accidents.”
In other words, do not let us begin by exaggerating the novelty of our situation. Believe me, dear sir or madam, you and all whom you love were already sentenced to death before the atomic bomb was invented: and quite a high percentage of us were going to die in unpleasant ways. We had, indeed, one very great advantage over our ancestors—anesthetics; but we have that still. It is perfectly ridiculous to go about whimpering and drawing long faces because the scientists have added one more chance of painful and premature death to a world which already bristled with such chances and in which death itself was not a chance at all, but a certainty.
This is the first point to be made: and the first action to be taken is to pull ourselves together. If we are all going to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, let that bomb when it comes find us doing sensible and human things—praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts—not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs. They may break our bodies (a microbe can do that) but they need not dominate our minds.

Oh hey there 👋 just waiting on my mom to pick me up from practice 😆
Fun fact: I didn’t get my license until I was almost 18. I let my little sister drive me to school everyday 😂💁🏻‍♀️

Cancun ☀️🌊👙
While you’ll normally find me out exploring, engaging in activities or lounging by the sea - this vacation was much different. We spent a majority of our time focused on one word: RELAX. Relaxing typically isn’t easy for either of us, we are generally go go go type people, so we took the opportunity last week to put our feet up. 💆🏻‍♀️💆🏼
There is one experience that I wanted to share with you - Temazcal. A temazcal is a type of low heat sweat lodge, which originated with pre-Hispanic Indigenous peoples in Mesoamerica. It’s a Mayan ritual of cleansing the aura and setting new intentions for the self. ✨ We felt it was timely with the new year and our wedding on the horizon to really dive in and detox our bodies and minds in this experience. 💫
Our shaman, Karen, was very sweet as she pushed us through emotional hurdles and chakra blockages so we could move through the ritual. At the end, we felt so light (and sweaty!), and were given fresh fruits and juices to help bring our bodies back in balance.🍍
Our experience was wonderful and we highly recommend trying this out if you haven’t yet! 🥥
We spent most of our week in the spa, with cucumbers over our eyes, and we definitely aren’t sad about it. 🥒
You can see how sad we were to leave in the last pic. 😆
Note: definitely eat at if you’re ever in Cancun, and ask for Gaspar!👌 Thanks for the recommendation. 💋

My is to keep my eyes open in pictures 😆🤓🤷🏻‍♀️
A few people have asked me about my resolutions for 2020, so I thought I could take this moment to tell you that I don’t do resolutions. I feel strongly about living intentionally daily and recalibrating often to be in integrity with myself and my personal goals. When I feel like making a change or feel like I’m off of my path leading to my goals, I make the change right then and there with guidance from my mentors. I don’t wait for Dec. 31st to write it on paper or declare it to my social media audience. I take action in the moment. And I encourage each of you to do the same thing if you are serious about making things happen in your life!! Don’t wait for the “signs” - just jump, go for it, take the plunge. The only difference between today and tomorrow is that today is tomorrow’s yesterday. 🤔

Laugh with your eyes. Hug with your soul. Smile with your heart. ♥️
The way you treat others day in and day out is a direct reflection of how you feel about yourself. If you aren’t feeling awesome about yourself (and you wish to), start by treating others kindly. Smiles are the kindest currency you can spend - and they buy you the sweetest joy 😉
Today I choose JOY, and I plan to treat everyone in my life & my path accordingly 🤗
Other ways to dig deep for joy ➡️
1. Start a gratitude journal 📓
2. Meditate & repeat mantras 🧘🏻‍♀️
3. Exercise 🏋🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️
4. Be positive (seriously! Start your day with a positive thought and your brain will be scanning the rest of the day for more positive moments)! 🤩

It’s BOSS•TOBER!
Know your worth, fill your cup and celebrate your wins. November is when we pour out our thanks - make sure your cup isn’t empty when we reach the end of the month. You gotta have something in your cup if you wanna pour out to others, y’all. 💕
Do whatever it takes to fill yourself with love and respect for all that you accomplish day in and day out. YOU. ARE. A. BOSS!
Show me what you’re proud of - post some pics that make you feel like a boss and tag me! 💪 @ Richmond, Virginia

Imperfection is a form of freedom. Give yourself love and grace. You’re the only person who really knows where you’ve been & what you’ve been through. 💕
To embrace your power, you must embrace your imperfections and step into your truth. They’ve made you who you are. ✨

♥️🍷When you meet the folks and hear how much they love what they do, it’s easy to see why their wine tastes like smiles🍷♥️
There’s something enchanting about sitting outside at their vineyard, and looking out over the vast property as you sip the wine that’s made there. It’s so peaceful... the light breeze and beaming sunshine are all part of the charm. I can’t wait to come back with a picnic basket and blanket 🥰 Thanks for all of your hospitality King Family & Friends! xoxo

Let’s talk about my new golf 🏌🏼‍♀️ “habit” for a sec... I love the challenge of trying new things. In fact, I loooove change (I know, kinda weird). I thrive on change and learning. So when a client of mine asked me to golf, I was all about giving it a shot - and also filled with the anxiety of “what if I suck at this?!” 😱And you know what, I did. I was awful. So then I invited myself to go a second time 🤪 And I was even worse. So basically, now I’m hooked. 😆 This actually reminds me of my fitness story (I need to post that soon, as many of you don’t know it!)... so you may see me on the circuit in a couple of years, who knows 😂

Good times & tan lines! ☀️
I’m kidding, we all know I don’t have tan lines 🤣 But this weekend was incredible! And we had so much fun being silly, spending time outside with friends and enjoying the sunshine. Do freckles count as a tan?🤪😂🤓

A couple of years and about 20lbs difference and - the truth is, I love both of these women!! I love pushing my body to its absolute limit and I also love the balance of working out, eating clean and living my REAL life. Helping women find BALANCE is my calling. I find so much joy in watching someone realize they can eat pizza and have great abs & b***y 😂💕🍕🍑

This morning was the first time in a few months that I slowed down enough to spend time on my mat. Yoga is essential for me. It’s time where I connect with my body, move my body without ego, and lean into the silence to hear my soul.

Is there a “yoga” in your life that you aren’t making time for?

Here are some ideas for you if you don’t currently have a way to connect with yourself:
• gratitude journaling
• devotions
• personal development
• meditation
• yoga
• meal prepping
• quiet time
• walks by yourself in nature/hiking
