The take down part is the not fun part! Especially on a gray rainy day that a couple of us aren’t feeling good. 🎄🤧
MDD ‘22 “Team Talk” part 2
Debbie: “I think I became a member of MDD in 2014. Selfishly I guess, my main reason in accepting this “invite” to join was being able to spend more time with my daughter Angela and granddaughter Abbi. It’s been a pleasure getting to know the other team members better and bringing Christmas into so many beautiful homes and businesses. I’m constantly amazed at Melissa’s creativity and maybe, just maybe, one day I’ll come to understand how that lady can get so many ornaments on a single tree.”
Rach: “Seeing ornaments, ribbon and greenery go from a box to a beautifully decorated tree that will make people smile throughout the season is the best part of working with Melissa. I enjoy playing a small role behind the scenes that helps to make that happen.”
Abbi: “I’ve been working with my aunt for as long as I can remember, ever since I was little and would just sit and watch while coloring or drawing. Since then I’ve grown and learned so many new aspects and been given more responsibility over the years. One funny memory I have is “gently falling” into a bush while trying to hang icicle lights on a small building - now we use a light hanging pole! 😂”
Kathye: (not shown) “It’s been a joy to work these past 5 years with such a hard working and kind team, and to be led by Melissa’s exceptional creativity and talent. A couple of fun memories are enjoying lunch together-provided by a generous client in her beautiful home on the lake, and happily finding out (after 2 years) that a very large house had an elevator that we could use to bring down all the boxes of decorations instead of making many multiple trips up and down the long staircase!”
MDD ‘22 Team Talk” part 1
Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to you and yours from me and the Melissa Dayne Designs team! I wanted to do a little introduction of each member this year; please enjoy reading our thoughts and fond memories. We look forward to many more in the seasons to come!
Melissa: “I can’t believe it’s now been 21 years as a business owner, 30+ as a designer. My team means the world to me and I couldn’t do it without each of them. Everyone has a specific job/specialty and they all do it well! The team’s commitment is why we have been able to serve our clients year after year. Some favorite memories are my niece sitting on the floor at age 4 coloring/reading while we decorated, taking our annual walk to get ice cream after a big decorating job and holding our first ever virtual workshops 2 years ago!”
Angela: “Wow! I’ve been with MDD for over 20 years now. I love seeing how excited the clients get when their home or business is decorated for the season. It seems a simple thing to us but brings so much joy to others!”
Marlene: “I was Melissa’s “advisor” when I was teaching. Then 12 years ago when I retired, I joined the team and she became my boss! I love seeing a bare tree become a work of art, but I don’t like when all the lights are burned out of said tree before the decorating can begin. Regardless of how many times Melissa has shown me how to make a bow, I STILL can’t do it, so I claim mother daughter privilege and beg her to do mine! My funniest memory to date is getting stuck in a clients elevator!”
It’s trivia time! Anyone know what country started the tradition of a decorated Christmas tree?
What me and the elves have been up to! 🎄🧝❤️
A few more! 🎄
