I would like to wish all of the teachers in District 135 a Happy Teacher Appreciation Week. We are lucky in Orland Park to have such a professional, dedicated group of people to teach our children. I would like to thank everyone who supported my campaign for the school board. I am humbled by the responsibility ahead of me to be a good steward of District 135 but am equally eager to roll up my sleeves and get started.
On Monday evening, Alan Kastengren, Linda Peckham-Dodge and Patti Thanos were all sworn in as new Board of Education members and will serve a four year term with Orland School District 135.
Victory! I am proud to have run a campaign with Francis Lattyak for Orland School District 135 Board of Education and Linda Peckham Dodge - Orland School District 135 based on facts, honesty, clear plans, and genuine engagement with the community. Thank you for the support of so many from Orland Park who care about education: parents, teachers, and community members. You have shown that Orland Park wants our children's education to be above politics. I am sorry Frank will not be with us on the school board; he would have been a true asset to our schools. I look forward to working with Linda and the other board members in the years ahead.
T minus 13 hours to let your voice be heard in this election. There will be no scrub of this launch. The boost we have gotten from so many supporters here in Orland has been amazing. We are ready to finish strong.
This is the team that will put the education of our children first! Vote today until 7:00pm at the Orland Township building or tomorrow at your polling place.

The election season is winding down. For those of you who have been following my page, you understand how important this election is. Here is how you can do your part.
1. Vote! Early voting is open today until 4 pm. The weather is beautiful. If you haven't voted, do it now! Research your candidates. Become an informed voter.
2. Reach out to your friends. If everyone reached out to two or three friends and encouraged them to vote, it could tip the scales in this election.
3. If you want to do more, contact me directly. We have several ways you can help.
Remember, for school board candidates who are informed, engaged, and invested, vote for Kastengren, Linda Peckham Dodge - Orland School District 135 , and Francis Lattyak for Orland School District 135 Board of Education
The weather might be a bad joke today, but the polls are open at early voting. No lines! You know you'll feel like a fool if you miss your chance to vote.
For those of you supporting me in this election, please watch this from Linda Peckham-Dodge. It has been a pleasure to get to know Linda better in this campaign. She deserves your support for the District 135 board.
Present or absent?
District 135 needs board members who are informed, engaged, and invested, not board members who are absent. Cast your vote for Kastengren, Peckham-Dodge, and Lattyak in this election.
The April 4th election for Orland District 135 is less than a week away. There is a lot of political noise at the moment. I think it is good to focus on a simple question: which school board candidates will be there for your children as board members? Who has shown dedication to Orland District 135 when they weren't running in a political campaign, when it was only about the children? Let's talk facts, not political innuendo.
In 2019, there were a lot of strong feelings about the schools. Linda Peckham-Dodge was running for reelection. Frank Lattyak and I were concerned parents. All of us made sure to be present at the polls. Our opponents in this year's election were... absent. None of them bothered to take the time to vote. Of course, they hadn't voted in 2017, or 2015, or 2013 either.
After the election, as a board member, Linda helped to start the board advisory committees to provide added transparency and accountability to the community. Over 100 people volunteered to be on the committees. Frank and I applied and were fortunate to be selected. Our opponents in this year's election were... absent. None of them even applied.
In 2022, the school board asked for applications for new members to the committees and asked the current members if they wanted to stay. Frank and I gladly asked to stay. Our opponents in this year's election were again... absent. None of them applied, despite the fact that it would allow them to let their voices be heard.
Shortly after this campaign started, the teachers union invited all of the candidates to speak to them. Linda, Frank, and I were all happy to speak with them. The teachers are major stakeholders in the district. They understand what works and what doesn't in the classroom. It was a great opportunity to learn more. Our opponents in this year's election were regrettably... absent. They outright refused to speak to the teachers.
The Parents for Education organized a candidate forum so community members could learn more about what we stand for as candidates. Linda, Frank, and I all agreed; subjecting ourselves to questions from the community is the essence of transparency and accountability. Our opponents in this year's election were yet again... absent. They refused to face the voting public.
I could go on to speak about all of the other ways that Linda, Frank, and I have been there for the children of Orland Park, time after time, year after year, in ways our opponents in this year's election simply have not. But just these examples, all clear, verifiable facts, should show you enough. District 135 needs board members who are informed, engaged, and invested, not board members who are absent. Cast your vote for Kastengren, Peckham-Dodge, and Lattyak in this election. Early voting is open now through April 3, with Election Day April 4. Have a plan to vote.
Being on the school board is a big responsibility. Vote for candidates who can juggle all of the demands of the role. Cast your vote for Kastengren, Francis Lattyak for Orland School District 135 Board of Education , and Linda Peckham Dodge - Orland School District 135 for Orland District 135 school board.
Unfortunately, based on the election results, it looks like I won't be joining the District 135 board. Again, thank you to everyone who supported my campaign. I wish the new board members the best of luck in leading the district.
The voting is done and the signs are collected. Time to relax. I am proud of the campaign I have run. Thank you to everyone for your support.
