If you are on Facebook, I invite you to join in the discussion on my page, Judith Fein. People are contacting me to say that the subject of my book is too depressing for them to read. Depressing? It's so upbeat I could hardly keep my feet on the floor while writing (typing) it. It's all about how death is not the end, and how ongoing communication is possible.

How to Communicate with the Dead: and how cultures do it around the world 07/09/2019

Well, friends, the first lap of the marathon is over: my book was published three days ago. Within 24 hours, Amazon chose it as #1 recommendation in the reincarnation category. It's about a lot more than reincarnation, but happy about the recommendation. For 20 years, every time I was sent on assignment around the world, I tried to experience –through ceremonies, events, funerals – how another culture looked at death. It was very unexpected...and very hopeful. Death is not seen as the end. It is on a continuum with life, and after a person dies, she/he can continue to communicate with the living. It is, of course, a great solace to anyone experiencing grief and bereavement, or to anyone going through a hard time. It also expands one's ideas of what is possible. And believe me, what I experienced was crazy, unexpected, soulful, and very moving. If you read the book, please tell me what you think. I hope you will find it an entertaining and informative read. Thanks for your interest and support.

When I was 19 my father died. Bereft, I often went to the cemetery for comfort and solace. One day something happened that changed my life forever.

For the past 20 years, I have voyaged around the world as a travel journalist, experiencing how other cultures communicate with the dead. I realized that it was a normal part of life, not reserved for the mystical few.

Several years ago, I wrote an article about how to communicate with the dead. Over 300,000 people read it, and thousands contacted me for more information. They inspired me to write this book.

If you wish to communicate with people you have lost or maybe never new, come along with me and learn how to do it. If you just want to read about fascinating cultural practice, that's fine too.

HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEAD...and How Cultures Do It Around The World will be published on September 4, 2019. I will keep you updated so you can read it as soon as it's available and tell your friends, family, and colleagues about it. As some of you have suggested, the book will be released in plenty of time to buy it for holiday gifts.

Thank you for your interest.
