It is and and I am reminded that we need to continue to lift each other up, to advocate for children and for all people, and to care for ourselves, taking moments to breath and restore when life is overwhelming.

One of the reasons I created Deep Living Skincare was to empower people in their skin health.

Acne is still the leading cause of depression and if I can utilize my background in natural medicine and my first hand experience dealing with eczema and acne as a mom to make a difference, it means so much to me to do so.

Creating clean skincare and offering supplements to support skin healing are one way that I can make a difference. Another is by striving to be a supportive mom and friend. We are always learning and growing and with everyday we can choose to support the mental health of ourselves and others.

Happy Easter from our egg to you!

I post this image every year since my son was born because it makes me laugh and my daughters are so sweet. I also post it because despite the size of this “egg” I didn’t get permanent stretch marks (thanks to our Deep Living healing salve and a soft circle massage technique my mom taught me).

This year I want to share more authentically with the moms out there, and the women seeing this post what this image means to me as I hope it connects with you.

You see, I’m reading a book called Believe It by that I thought would just inspire me as a mompranuer and skincare creator (she is known for selling her cosmetic company for a billion dollars) but what I didn’t realize is her story and her honesty would crack me open (like an egg, get it?). I find myself connecting to so much of her story (I too struggle with body image, self worth, and we both have Dad’s named Mike and families that divorced and remarried so many times we have big beautiful blended families) that I cry and smile on every page I read..
The truth is that I post this image out of self love and a declaration of self acceptance. The number of times people commented on how big my belly was and all the jokes about me having quadruplets during this pregnancy was really difficult .

I was in my final year of medical school and a fellow female student (who I adore so I won’t call her out) stopped me in the clinic hall in front of many people and declared that I had the largest pregnant belly she had ever seen. I had patients to take care of so I couldn’t wobble into a bathroom to cry, I had to be there for others…but it hurt. I wanted to tell her how you just don’t say things like that to a pregnant women (she is 95 pounds soaking wet so she just had no idea what it feels like to constantly wish I a was a bit smaller since I was 13 years old) and It reminded me of a lifetime of being told I’d have to lose weight to get the job, to get the man, to be worthy.

I post this picture to remind myself that I’m worthy of love just the way I am…and you are too! 💖
