During Self Care Week we’re encouraging patients to improve their sleep through these healthy habits:
🛏️ Go to bed around 10pm
📱 Remove electronic devices from the bedroom
☕ Avoid caffeinated drinks from 4pm

Another way to improve your self care routine is to include quiet time for your mind to reset. This could be:
🏞️ A nice walk in nature
💠 Guided meditation
🛁 A relaxing bath

These can help you to leave the stress of work and other commitments behind and put your wellbeing to the forefront

Stress is your body’s reaction to help you deal with pressure or threats. This is sometimes called a "fight or flight" response

A small amount of stress can be useful. It can motivate you to take action and get tasks completed. It can also make you feel alive and excited. But too much stress can cause negative effects such as a change in your mood, your body and relationship issues

You can speak to your doctor or specialist nurse about the use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to minimise some menopause symptoms 🧑‍⚕

With or without HRT, a healthy lifestyle, healthy weight and healthy blood pressure are the most important decisions you can make towards your health pre and post-menopause 🩸

Hay fever can make the summer time really miserable for some and also make people really ill. Do you know what you should and shouldn't do?

DO:
✅ put Vaseline around your nostrils to trap pollen

🚿 shower and change your clothes after you have been outside to wash pollen off
🧹vacuum regularly and dust with a damp cloth
🏡 try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people if you have a high temperature or you do not feel well enough to do your normal activities

DON'T:
❎ cut grass or walk on grass

🚬 do not smoke or be around smoke – it makes your symptoms worse
🐾 do not let pets into the house if possible – they can carry pollen indoors

Although the kids cant wait for that long summer break, for some parents the reality can be quite different!

Instead of helping bring mum, dad and the kids together the summer school holidays often raise more issues than they resolve.
They naturally put more pressure on the relationships within a family unit 👨‍👩‍👧

Who will look after the children? Will I be able to get that time off my boss promised me? Can we afford childcare if they can’t?

Children can get cranky if they are not busy!
