South Africa. Martha Beck’s S.T.A.R. Self Transformation Adventure Retreat Part 2

In the summer of 2018, I went to South Africa to see and photograph the animals. What spurred the visit, (aside from this being a childhood dream) was my attending a life coaching retreat with Martha Beck, a New York Times bestselling author and columnist for Oprah Magazine.

I didn’t know it at the time but it transformed my life and my future. I’m now a trained life coach working on my certification! It truly was beyond my wildest dreams! I traveled alone to and from for 30 hours and met amazing women there that I will be friends with for the rest of my life. I am so very grateful and wanted to honor that experience by sharing some of my iPhone photography from the trip. Some of these pictures were done before the retreat at Pilanesberg National Park and the others at the retreat at Londolozi Game Reserve.

I’m heading to Costa Rica next week with one of the women I met at the retreat. She is a master coach who created this women’s wellness retreat. She invited me to join her and do the photography. How exciting is that! Also, wanted to say how grateful I am to have an awesome husband who is willing to stay home and hold down the fort when I am off on these life coaching adventures!

Costa Rica Retreat – Kathy McCabe Coaching For Real Joy

On May 6th, 2018 I was fortunate enough to visit Notre Dame. It was on a Sunday during services and it felt very sacred. So grateful I was able to be there while in Paris. This is my collection of iPhone pictures for your viewing pleasure.

While in California last week, we visited an elephant seal rookery. The northern elephant seal spends 8 to 10 months a year in the open ocean. They dive 1,000 to 5,800 feet deep for 15 minutes - 2 hours, migrating thousands of miles twice a year to the rookery for birthing, breeding, molting and rest. They were molting while we visited so we saw mostly females and some young males. Super cool to see them! They blended so well with the sand that some just looked like rocks or sand formations!

Tonight's moon! Shot with my Canon point and shoot. It has a superzoom. Not bad quality...

Did you know that a group of giraffes if moving is called a journey? When giraffes are standing still in a group they are called a tower. I love giraffes!!!😍

This was from The Great Pumpkin Carve a couple years ago. So many amazing artist's carving beautiful pumpkins!

This is one of my favorite photos from our 10th anniversary trip! I think it's because it's such a cool little creature in a beautiful shell. It was fun to watch it move on the sand after I put it back down. I made sure to put it back safely :-)
