Had a great time performing at open mic night at The Black Horse Pub and Restaurant last night! Looking forward to getting back there again this summer.

This Lite Ash Stratocaster and I joined forces in the early 2000s and have had a lot of creative fun ever since. It came stock with some great Seymour Duncan pickups, a hefty Ash body and a pretty Birdseye maple neck (who's deep V has a unique and very playable feel) which all add up to a very "straty" sound that is my go to whenever I need a fat single coil tone. The details exist, I'm not sure the devil resides there. When I look closely I see the wear of work, the toil of years and a loving dedication. The world is like a fractal, ever bigger or smaller iterations of the whole, right down to the strings that make all matter sing.

The snow has arrived and the forests are quieter than ever ❄️ It's perfect for hearing that inner song and working it into something worth sharing. This is my winter wonderland, what does yours look like? I hope you're finding your songs these days, in whatever your wonderland looks like.

This one is for Scott, he introduced me to this song but now he's gone. I’ve played this Ovation Archtop since 2003 when it was released as a Limited Edition. It has a unique sound and plays amazingly. The neck is perfect and the cutaway allows access to the higher frets beautifully. It has a warm jazzy sound that lets it stand out when played with other acoustic guitars and really shines on leads and tight dynamic rhythms.

The colours in the sky are often a reflection on the colours in your life. ✨ Do you notice the colours and welcome them, marvel at them? Or do you pass them by, oblivious to the beauty? Your songs are those colours, those forces of nature, doors to within. Don't ignore them, embrace them.

My longtime musical partner in crime, the Scaredycaster gets it's name from a sticker I stuck on it a long time ago 🎸I'd like to eventually get that frightened cat sticker inlaid. Hand-built in 1991 by Dave Fox, at the same place that produces the much sough-after F-Bass in Hamilton Ontario, you can hear the Scaredycaster on the guitar solo in “Angels Upon Us” from “Around, Around”.
