Cob - earth clay and straw is a surprisingly forgiving medium to work with. Exciting to finally start on the wall.
It wasn't the most obvious way to spend a windy morning - building a house made if straw! But the fire helped keep me toasty.
Being a hoarder has it's advantages. This wheel has been hanging around for months now and is the perfect size join the fire place and chimney.
That was fun.
It feels significant that the door went on today? It doesn’t fit properly yet, but still significant!

Why have I never done this before? Soldering is so much fun! Results are a little scrappy, but I've convinced myself this will help it blend with the rustic nature of the hobit house.
Week 3 and 4 of the hobit house /round house now complete. It's slow progress. But lots of fun.
Mostly I've been winging it on the hobbit house built, but I had to buy the door and frame (recycled obviously) so thought it was worth working out how it would work first!
Start of something new. Building a hobbit house - because I can!
