It's workshop time again! Just a few weeks now until another two workshops on 16th November. These ones will have a festive theme, so you'll not only learn all about brush calligraphy but you'll also go home with your own Christmas card design!

Nothing makes me happier than delivering a commission piece like this one to its new home. Prints will be available at next weekend's , and if you'd like to learn how to create your own calligraphy there are still a few places on my workshops at 10.30-11.30am and 12-1pm.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but demand has been so high for my workshop on 20th July that I'll now be doing a second one on the same day. Crazy! Thank you so much to everyone who has booked on so far, looking forward to meeting you all!! I'll also have a stand at the fair on the day so even if you're not fancying the workshop do come and say hi!

"Modern calligraphy is a relaxing and fun creative art form which can be used for so many things, including wedding invitations and menus, greetings cards and crafts. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some basic experience, come along to this introductory workshop where you'll learn how to hold your pen, be given guidance on creating letters and words and create your first piece of calligraphy art which you can take home. Introductory workshops are a great way try out brush calligraphy in an informal and friendly environment. You'll receive a brush calligraphy starter kit on the day, including a brush pen and worksheets, which you'll use on the day and get to take home to practice your new skill. "

It's been a rather busy few weeks in The Craftsy Creator household. Back at the start of May (it seems like yesterday!) I had an amazing day teaching some lovely ladies the art of brush calligraphy. To help them see what they can do with their new pens I created this, and boy did they take the 'be creative' on board. I'm always amazed by everyone's creative talent when I teach and this class was no different. Keep practicing ladies!

Mother's Day Brush Calligraphy workshop booking is now open!

Join me at the Mother's Day shopping event at The Talbot, Ripley on Sunday 31st March from 11am-3pm where I'll be running 20 minute taster workshops. This is a great opportunity to try out brush calligraphy, and at only £10 is a lovely way to spend the day.

Whether you’re a complete beginner to brush calligraphy or have some experience, come along to this introductory taster workshop where you’ll learn how to hold your pen, be given guidance on creating letters and words and have your very own pen and worksheets to take home and practice.

Places are limited so book early to avoid missing out.

I've had a mad week of Valentine's orders, plans for various birthdays, hockey and rehearsals for a show I'm in that's going to Edinburgh Fringe Festival (eek!), so am looking forward to a relatively chill night tonight!

I'm joining the team for the upcoming Spring Market held on April 6th. With a few changes, it is going to be huge! 😁 Make a note of the date and keep an eye out for more information. It's so exciting!

Happy National Handwriting Day!

Handwriting obviously holds a special place in my heart, and today I can share that with you. I started calligraphy not just because it's relaxing, beautiful to look at and is lovely on designs and art, but because I hate to think of a world without it. It's so easy for our world to become reliant on digital, and while that's great for some things it means that others lack that personal touch. When was the last time you wrote or received a letter? A real handwritten one which had to be posted with a stamp? But how fondly do you remember the handwritten letters, cards and notes you have received? Knowing that someone has lovingly spent time writing that letter just to you is a feeling that you just don't get with an email or typed letter. I have many happy memories of getting an unexpected handwritten letter in the post.

So I urge you, choose today to pick up a pen, a pencil, a quill, whatever you can find, and write something. Anything. It could be a letter to a parent, a love note to your partner, a reminder for yourself or a just saying hi to a friend. If you fancy, share it with the world, encourage more people to write by hand and show others you're thinking of them.

I'm so excited to finally share what I've been working so hard on for the past few weeks. Today, I have launched my 'Mind' range, artwork that is specifically designed with mental health in mind (no pun intended). For every item I sell in this range I will donate 50p to Mind, a wonderful charity who are helping to show people the importance of discussing mental health openly and honestly.

January is a tough month, there's no question about it. From having to go back to work after Christmas, to the dark mornings and evenings, or breaking your new year resolution on day 3, it's easy to get swallowed up by the chaos.

I'm hoping these pieces will encourage everyone to talk more about how they're feeling, and show each other that there's always someone there, especially in times when we least believe it.
