5 years ago my mum passed away at the age of 54 (almost 55). On the 29th March she would have been 60 years old. To mark this milestone birthday in her memory and honour, along with my best friend Amy Smith we are running at least 3 10ks this year - Minch, Gloucester and Frampton to raise money for The Life Coach To provide much needed services and mental health management aids for young people.

My mum suffered with her mental health from a young age and into adulthood and I know she would be proud to support this organisation in her name.

Tom Hoskins is the owner of Chance is change! and passionate about making a change and taking a stance against mental health difficulties. Some of you may already know, of Tom who works within schools around the Gloucestershire area and is already working in Stonehouse and Cainscross.

By launching ‘THE LIFE COACH’ - a safe space on wheels, it allows Tom to take his office with him when travelling to to different locations and park up at the schools to invite any students on board. With his years of experience and knowledge I am confident that he makes a really positive and secure environment for any of the young people whom He helps. feel it is something that has not been done and that my students will appreciate the modern take! Whilst obtainjng funding from loacal sources is amazing Tom and the team would like to be able to provide mood bands and mental health aids to all who need it free if charge.

The system to help out young people theough mental health issues, is not working and does not provide help quick enough or tailor treatment to each young persons needs. Many families cannot afford private help. Toms aim is to help support young people through an extremely diffivult time and understand that its ok.and at no cost to them.

I believe our young people are the future - lets look after them.

Great first day at victory park ✨

Thank you to Cainscross Town Council and thank you for the continued support Cainscross Conservatives District Councillor 💙

We had good reviews and was fully booked up on the day 🙂

▫️During Covid-19 my work within the community was restricted due to the lockdowns and I wanted to do more to continue to support the community.

This led me to set up a live mini series on Instagram ‘The Avengers of Mental Health’ 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️which featured influential members of the mental health community who have used their experiences and personal journeys to help others.

The mini series consisted of 10 episodes which were available to stream live or watch at a later date on my Page by anyone who wanted to hear other people’s views and journeys of Mental Health and how we can all help our communities.

Like the film series of ‘Avengers’ we have brought people from around the world, like America and GB, to discuss creating a better life for everyone 🌏🗺

The series was successful in helping us reach a wider community and I am proud to announce that we are now working on our podcast 🎙 “The Avengers of Mental Health” to help the wider community connect together in a hope of spreading further awareness.

“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much” – Helen Keller. ✨

We have been busy this week as Tom has been invited by the University of Gloucestershire to be a guest speaker and deliver two lectures to the BEd (Primary Education ) Year 3’s Inclusion Module! Tom was able to provide an insight to university students of how Chance is Change and Life Coach work within schools and support vulnerable pupils. Tom has enjoyed stepping out of his comfort zone to help students on the course understand the importance of inclusion for vulnerable pupils both within and outside of schools in practise. It is an honour to be able to be involved with future generation of teachers
so that they may continue the all-important job of supporting the most vulnerable young people both within and outside of the education system for the years to come.

Our aim is to not only provide direct support to those who need it but also to encourage and assist others in providing the support. The importance of communities coming together to support those who need it most is paramount to what we do.

The sessions were a great success and we hope to continue working with the University of Gloucestershire in the future 🎓

I am super excited to share with you all that the Lifecoach will make it’s debut at Stonehouse today for our drop-in sessions between 6pm and 8pm.

Just a reminder that the mental health drop in sessions are free for young people to attend as they have been fully sponsored by Gloucestershire county council.

The Life Coach will be parked at: ( Stonehouse High street next to the Bridge Cafe)

Who: kids and young people between the ages of 6-18.
