Happy Mother's Day to all your wonderful and hard working mommas out there!
Did you know increasing dental assistant pay can actually save practices money in the long run? ๐คฏ
According to our latest research on the financial impact of dental assistants, it's true!
First, we know salary and job satisfaction are closely linked, and insufficient pay is the number one reason dental assistants leave their jobs or the profession altogether.
Our latest research found that a 15% increase in pay can make dental assistants more likely to stay at their practices, which more than offsets the costs of turnover.
We found that when a dental assistant leaves their job, it costs practices an average of $10,000 in lost productivity, reduced patient volume, and recruiting, hiring, and training expenses. Thatโs about 25% of the average dental assistantโs annual pay!
Thereโs an additional $21,000 in revenue at risk because the longer a position stays open, the more potential revenue that can be lost. By simply offering dental assistants higher pay now, practices can save money and headaches in the long run.

Did you know?! September is Dental Infection Control Awareness Month (DICAM)! ๐ฆ
All month long the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) is highlighting different dental infection control guidelines each week that can help make every dental visit a safe dental visit. This weekโs focus is on Dental Unit Waterlines and highlights the risk of infection to patients and providers from untreated and/or contaminated dental unit waterlines.
