When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Garden Day 2024 🌱🍃🌸✨

I am still buzzing over how much fun I had on Garden Day and having been chosen as A Friend Of@gardendaysa this year, not only did I have the pleasure of celebrating the day with my loved ones but I was also featured in numerous publications discussing the importance of plants for mental and overall wellbeing such as: (swipe left)

1. “Talk to Your Plants” - Sunday Times Lifestyle {13/10/24 p14}

2. “Joys of Greenery” - The Star {18/10/24 p9}

October has been a month of highlighting mental health awareness and all of the different ways we can infuse mental wellbeing into our lives. I hope that through what I’ve shared, you’ve found your own unique and authentic way to move through your life with more intention, peace and health 🫶🏾🌿🧠

I’m still basking in the energy of my time in Bali co-teaching 200hr teacher training 🥹 and guiding this specific lecture was an absolute highlight for me 📖

As I return home and work restarts, I feel even more inspired and passionate about advocating for inclusivity in the wellness space and amplifying African voices and indigenous knowledge on the global quest towards healing and peace for all 🤍

The times we are currently living in can tempt us into a space of separatism and division, seeing those who are different to us as “other” when the Truth is that we are all interconnected, and violence, war and disempowerment of one equates to the same in ourselves ❤️‍🩹

It’s a privilege to do this work but also a heavy load to carry, which is why in order for us to go far, we need to go together ✨

The work continues, and I am so grateful for the incredible beings in my life who support me and fill me up so I can continue to do the work that lights up my fire within 🧘🏾

Good morning Cape Town 🌞🌿

I’m so excited to head off on more adventures with you today & Saturday’s vibe is all about my fav Plants & Places 🌱

One of the things I love about Cape Town is all the hidden gems for plant lovers and with coming up tomorrow I thought I’d share some inspo today 🌸✨

I recently visited just outside Riebeek Kasteel - a cute town about an hour or so out of CPT 👌🏾

The place is a plant lovers dream and my favorite find was this indigenous succulent which makes for a gorgeous hanging plant. It has these ethereal pink bubble flowers dotted along it’s green stems - something I’ve never seen before 😍🌸🌵🫧

Do you have any plant nurseries or shops that you love? Share your favs in the comments!

Back on home soil and just in time to celebrate one of my favorite days…Garden Day 🌸🌱🪲🥹

I’m thrilled and honoured to be a Friend of Garden Day 2024 which is all about celebrating the joy and beauty that comes with being outside in our country’s green spaces 🌱

is the perfect time for all South Africans to put away their tools and celebrate our beautiful gardens, appreciating the mental and physical benefits they bring us all year long 🌱

Gardens come in every shape and size have the power to bring us together, and I want YOU to join the movement Sunday 20 October! 🌿💚

Put on your flower crown and host a Garden Day party in your garden, or green space. Whether it’s a lavish lunch on the lawn, platters on the patio with your pot plants, or a cozy tea for two under your favorite tree in a public space —anything (and everything!) goes! 🪲

I’ll be sharing my own celebrations so stay tuned and for more info, follow
