A Rainbow Forest of Trees 30/11/2022

A Rainbow Forest of Trees Holiday Bucket List item – check. Fuchsia tree anyone? Actually I’m a traditional green girl but these trees are a sight to see (hubby is still pushing for a white one but I’m not buyin’ it). Dart’s Tree Farm in Southold creates a walk-through forest of spray-painted trees - purples, blues...

“Gin is not just gin to us,” says director of operations Abby Gruppuso. “It’s a canvas that can be used as a medium to tell a story.” Cheers to Better Man Distillery in Patchogue - featured in Chilled Magazine! Great little round-up of their repertoire.

Amazing to see tropical fish right here on LI. Sadly it seems some will freeze before they get a chance to escape frigid waters.

SCHS Photo of the Week: Halloween Postcard, 1909. (Image from the Holiday Postcard Collection of the Suffolk County Historical Society Library Archives. Copyright © Suffolk County Historical Society. All rights reserved.) Back in 1909, when it cost two cents for a stamp, postcards were a popular way to share holiday greetings with friends and family. This postcard was addressed to Mrs. Kate M. Edwards of Sag Harbor, with a question from the sender: "Does this postal go the right way? - Olive." Click here for an interesting history of the origins of the Halloween holiday:
