Bracebridge and Manse Neighbourhood Board
The Bracebridge and Manse Neighbourhood Board would like to wish all of our amazing community a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
The Environmental Crime Partnership are urging people not to get caught out using an unlicensed โman with a vanโ to take away their waste this Christmas.
If fly-tipped waste is traced back to you, you could receive a fine or prosecution.
Whether youโre throwing out old toys, making space for new ones, or just getting rid of household rubbish, please make sure you know where your waste is going and check that anyone removing waste from your property is authorised.
Your waste, is your responsibility. This means you must ensure all your household rubbish is disposed of properly and legally.
Donโt get caught out โ follow the S.C.R.A.P code:
Suspect all waste carriers. Don't let them take your rubbish until they provide proof of registration. Note their vehicle's registration plate
Check that a waste carrier is registered on the Environment Agency's website - https://environment.data.gov.uk/public-register
Refuse any unexpected offers to have your rubbish taken away
Ask how your rubbish will be disposed of - seek evidence of this
Paperwork must be obtained: a proper invoice, waste transfer note or receipt, including a description of the waste being removed and the waste carrierโs contact details
Remember, if someone has offered to collect your waste and the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
Legitimate waste carriers will be happy to provide proof that your waste is being legally disposed of.
Merry Christmas to everybody and a healthy and prosperous New Year
I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all involved in this morning's remembrance service at Maple Street War Memorial which was attended by approximately 100 people.

Thank you also to Tesco Express newark for supplying the rolls for the soup, and the cookies. ๐ฒ ๐ช ๐
Finally, thank you to the Bridge Church Lincoln for kindly offering a venue for us to meet up and dry off. ๐
If anyone would like to join us for litter picks, please follow future posts.
Please volunteer and join us to help clean up our community.
Afterwards, soup and a roll will be offered to all who have taken part.
The neighbourhood board is always keen to hear opinions and ideas from it's residents.
If any resident or local business would like to be involved with the neighbourhood board, please send a message or comment below.
As with all neighbourhoods, the individual residents are what makes the community unique.
We'd love to post some personal testimonials of people in the community to share our resident's own stories and successes and to give a little insight into their lives.
If you would like to write a personal testimonial to share with others, or give permission for another person to submit one on your behalf, please message the Neighbourhood Board.
