This past Tuesday, our club met and we discussed pruning. If you are wondering where to start, remember the 4 D's of pruning!
Who is afraid of pruning?
If so, you are not alone! When it comes to pruning there are some basic steps to remember that can help you get started. Remember the 4-D's of pruning: Dead, Damaged, Dying, and Diseased. You can remove branches that fall into those categories first. Then you can also remove branches that are crossing or touching each other so that they do not rub together and cause injury to the plant. Removing branches and limbs that fall into these categories can help to get you started in cleaning up your plants for spring growth!
Don't forget, our first meeting of the year is tomorrow! 7pm at the Catoosa County Extension office. For more information, email [email protected]
