Whether in urban or rural Iowa, Medicaid is vital. Medicaid rates are generally higher in rural areas, but it is also essential in urban communities. Our elected leaders and gov officials must protect and strengthen the program.
Iowa needs to maintain a strong, robust Medicaid program that keeps healthcare choices in the hands of consumers and supports positive health outcomes.
Medicaid provides affordable, quality health insurance to Iowa's most vulnerable & underserved populations — those who are low-income, minorities, rural, elderly, and living with disabilities or substance use disorders. It helps Iowans stay healthy, care for their families and go to work!

Iowa "has the resources available to fully fund our Medicaid program. Taking this important step will ensure that the nearly 800,000 Iowans, including 400,000 plus children, who rely on this program are receiving the health care services they have been promised and ensure the managed care model of health care is best positioned to succeed."
