I have a love/hate relationship with London. I've got fantastic memories of days/nights out. I also find it incredibly stressful. It's a sensory overload where usually simple things can feel complex. Sometimes just finding a half decent pub is a challenge, or any pub. However, you can't fault it for its array of stunning views, with landmarks at every turn and even in my late 30's I find Tower Bridge to be something magical and unique.
This cityscape is available to buy. Please message me for details
Unnamed 24"x36" acrylic on canvas.
I used Edding 5400 3D double liner pens along with more traditional acrylic paints using brushes and palette knives.
Been rubbish on here again but this is what I'm currently working on
Merry Christmas from my family to yours. Here's a window collage I did for our dining room using an acrylic pen
Cosy evenings in. This new piece finished off the fireplace nicely. Not thought of a name yet.
"The Amazon, Sale Now On!" - The finished piece which I've now handed over to the new owners. 4ft x 3ft, 74 hours; acrylic on canvas.
Something floral.

"That 1 day we got the paddling pool out"
I think I'll be displaying this for the open studios from this weekend. It's at
This is from back in June when we had nice weather, anyone remember nice weather? Quite a rare occasion to have washing on the line. I liked this view for the pops of colour.
Another aeroplane sketch. Big man taking a rest.
What to do on a 4 hour flight to Paphos? Draw a ton. 1st up was a throw back to 2022 when sailed past.
Flight sketch No. 2.
A miniature postcard size seascape for "From with Love" fundraiser, ready to be posted today.

I should sketch more but I'm too bone idol. More sketchbook action
Happy to have played a small part in this. Hopefully a great experience for the kids.
"Heaven's Light, Our Guide" - the official motto of Portsmouth since 1929 seems like a good name for this piece.
Size A1, acrylic on canvas.
This is a gift from myself and to the people of Portsea, particularly those who use the new Portsea Community Hub on Queen Street. Can't wait to varnish and hand it over.
Lovely to see this in it's forever home.

Another couple of layers on. Need to start finding the depth and form and get some of the details in next.
Currently on the easle. First three layers down. I'm quite liking the looser look at the moment but will see how it develops.
"The welcome party"
Based on a chance photo I took by the Gosport ferry of a woman seeing her friend's ship return to harbour. The ship was HMS Severn but the paintwork made it too well camouflaged when I painted it so went with traditional grey so it was only mildly infuriating 🙄 never again.
Very happy to have been accepted as an ArtCan member. A great concept from :

I'm pleased to be showing 3 paintings at this exhibition alongside some great artists from the local area.
'Gorilla in the mix' 50cm x 60cm, acrylic on canvas.
In the summer I entered 3 paintings to a group exhibition in Lee-on-the-Solent where members of the public were asked to vote for their favourite. I recently found out my tiger painting received the most votes. A lovely accolade given the huge level of talent and work on display.
A bit more progress on my gorilla. Not sure if I should keep the eyes closed or not, any thoughts? Probably going to change the colour of the headphones too.
Sometimes people approach me about a commission. Sometimes, I say "sorry, it's not for me" then there's the time someone asked for this and I couldn't possibly say no.
Some work in progress. Using a reference photo from our rain soaked trip to in the summer.
People are going through a hard time and it's only going to get worse. Now it's more important to engage with art more than ever, for yourself. Whether its having a go, going to see art, whether on the street, museums and visiting exhibitions or, if you can buying something to support an artist and brightening your space. This is the most recent thing I've completed, been able to do very little else recently. Now I'm motivated to get creative again, experiment with ideas and have fun. Got a couple of exhibitions next weekend with in Gosport and next Saturday in Highland Road Southsea. Do go along and see the amazing things local artists are creating, get some JOY, it's good for the soul.
