With the release of Early Mornings last Friday, we thought we'd talk a bit more about the ideas behind the song and its history.

Early Mornings was written very shortly after Kaelan and Kevin started playing music together in summer 2015. As a first venture into co-writing lyrics, we naturally ended up on an idea that we could both easily relate to and this I think helped us in the early stages of the new writing process.

Early Mornings at its heart is about recognising that their are tough times in life but knowing that you are capable to bear that weight and make it through to sunnier days. The language is very vividly about lying beneath the blankets in the morning and the peace that is yours and yours alone before the world starts up again. We will post the full lyrics at some point in the future as we think that they themselves have a weight and a purpose even without the music around it.

To us Music is about telling stories and about creating feelings but it is also about communication on a level that many can't put into words. When you're at that gig and you're singing the chorus to that song with everyone else in the room, that's a connection. That connection surpases race, religion, political opinion and everything else that divides. We make Music because it brings people together, and because times like these are built to overcome that which divides us.

Not everything has to be clear cut, sometimes something is wrong because it is wrong. At the end of the day you will always know that there is an Early Morning waiting for you tomorrow.

It's been a long road, but we had a talk and thought that now was the right time to give our music away.

A song is not just a song, it can be many things: Memories, Heartache, Happiness. To us these songs are all those things and so much more. We took our time with them to get them to the place we wanted and now hopefully, they will mean something to all of you.
