Positive Community Spaces

Positive Community Spaces was formed on the 25th August 2022 and is a registered Community Benefit Society organisation which has the sole aim of serving the best interests of Old Trafford residents.

The purpose of Positive Community Spaces, is to secure, develop and manage community assets (‘community assets’ are local buildings and public spaces, like local parks, pubs, housing, play areas, buildings, solar panel roofing and even football clubs which are owned by local people for the benefit of those within their local community).

We want to do this so that local people can have an actual stake in these community assets, thereby, can contribute and influence how the community asset is managed and operated, for community benefit.

Being a not for profit organisation will give us an opportunity to access investment funds so that we can acquire assets that our community want, I assets are fit for purpose and they will deliver long lasting, positive outcomes for everyone.

Positive Community Spaces, is a local charitable society that works within key principles. Over time, Positive Community Spaces may consider owning and/or managing any local assets for local people, these may be:
+ Community Open Spaces
+ Buildings
+ Green Spaces
+ Community led housing

OUR FIRST EXCITING PROJECT
Trafford Council and Trafford Leisure have given notice that they are exploring the possibility of transferring the ownership of the Old Trafford Sports Barn (OTSB) on Seymour Park through a Community Asset Transfer.

The Council, is seeking to transfer the centre to an organisation or group of organisations to help safeguard and develop the facility, promoting community involvement and engagement.

With the community supporting us, we wish to transform the Old Trafford Sports Barn into a vibrant place where everyone can relax, learn, play sport and have fun.
