Refreshing my Online Energy š
Been working on something very different lately. Dyeing is on the back burner and has been for some time. I have no doubt Iāll get back to it at some point! But right now, other activities are claiming the spotlight.
Curly Dock!
These tiny seeds are all dried out and a gorgeous red colour. Iām gathering as much as I can over the next little while in an attempt to make up the weight of a couple skeins of yarn! Iām not sure how far Iāll get, I see this w**d only sporadically.
Luckily, because the seeds are so dry, they should keep for a while and let me gather slowly over the course of a couple weeks. Iām hoping for a pinky orangey colour.
Today is the last day of my Clearance Sale !
Youāll never see these hand-dyed yarns for $30 again š
If you knit or crochet and love nature, come to the Barntique today and snap up these GORGEOUS skeins. Iām making room for some handsewn items and dyed cloth goods!
Well, itās a new moon tomorrow and the end of my own personal 28 day āI do what I wantā challenge.
I finished my self made shirt, made with ās Soft Work course!
I stopped following through on the moon phase posts, after a certain point I stopped wanting to and I give myself permission to BE inconsistent, itās how I roll.
I harvested the horsetail, havenāt yet dyed with it. Looks like yellow instead of pink, oh well.
I hired to do up my logo.
I walked away from OW in order to be in control of what I work on and when.
All in all, a very peaceful and successful month.
Tomorrow, root canal and healing! š
I definitely relaxed and took my time this weekend! This post is coming a little late, I had the most social weekend in a while on this date!
Here are my little updates. āŗļø
The next couple days are a great time for finishing things up, and Iām aiming to do so! Happy Full Moon in Sagittarius (my sign!).
took my hand-drawn logo and turned it into a clean and sharp file for me to use on things like social media, business cards and stamps!
I love my whimsical flower in a cauldron/dye-pot image, I definitely feel that it sums up what I do. š„°
Looking forward to plastering this image everywhere!
First Quarter Moon in Virgo!
Iām still showing up with these moon posts on my feed, which is a win for me. Anything consistent usually doesnāt last too long around here, but I may have just found a way to make this stick. I feel I should mention that this method even occurred to me by reading Yasmin Bolandās book Moonology
How are your goals and routines going?
Your favourite textile/astrology nerd showing up with some updates and informing!
Some things Iām excited about are a clean logo in the works from as well as getting back to a sewing course by the lovely .
I have been missing sewing things to wear for myself for ages. I started the Soft Work sewing course in February I think, but I couldnāt keep up and eventually felt it wasnāt the right time.
Iām going to give it another shot this month, go really slow and give myself a lot of grace.
Iām shaking things up! For the next 28 days Iām going to not worry about being profitable and productive; Iām going to choose something that I want to do, work towards it and share my experience.
As a single-mom/business owner on Ontario Works does it sound and feel insane? Yes. Do I have the privilege of doing it anyways without any negative impact on my current security or needs? Also yes.
When you have nothing to lose but fear of the opinions of others and everything to gain including a sense of peace and autonomyā¦
I think itās time to go for it.
This mindset shift might be the project itself, or I may take up a crafting project thatās been on my list for ages (there are many to choose from).
Letās see!
This is me taking a moment to recognize what Iāve done so far. How beautiful are all these colours together?
I may or may not get to the indigo this week (thanks for your patience, I know Iāve talked about it here and there!) but regardless, this rainbow looks pretty great to me.
Gotta give some of them a final wash, dry, and then label and package them up nicely for their trip to Hamilton on the 20th!
My products will be at The Barntique throughout the months of May-August!

There are no words to tell you how excited I am to have things that Iāve made in front of people, in a solid home where theyāll be looked after, seen and purchased!
There will be some wool yarns for sale there of course, Iām also thinking of tea towel and napkin sets, shawls and more. š
This season is going to be great!
