Anxiety is not a bad word. Don't let anyone let you feel ashamed of experiencing anxiety. I say experience anxiety and not HAVE anxiety because I don't think it's something that should be attached to your sense of self, your identity. You are more than the anxiety you may be experiencing and anxiety can be reduced! I am speaking from both training and personal experience 😊. Anxiety is something I personally believe we can all experience in some form or another (there are many different types of anxiety) we just experience it at a wide range of extremities. The people at the lowest end of the spectrum may not even realize they have experienced anxiety.

Alternatively, one who has never been educated on mental health in any form may not realise that they infact have experienced mental health issues. Issues that if treated could help improve their quality of life and their relationship with others around them. The physical and mental are all connected baby πŸ’—πŸ’—β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯

Here to help educate us all and help us all to continue to grow as people as we become more self aware πŸ‘‹πŸ™ŒπŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ’—❀️‍πŸ”₯πŸ’—

Self awareness = Self growth ✨️

If the above imagine connects well with you leme know! πŸ’—

Hello fabulous people! πŸ˜πŸ’“ First of all, What better time than just before the weekend to think about what makes you happy 🌞! When getting through the day to day its so easy to forget to prioritize what actually makes you happy or brings you joy. We all wish we had more time for the little things... in reality we do have time, our life is controlled by us. We are in charge of making it happen. Whether we want to admit that or not! (Often a hard pill to swallow).

Here's some food for thought in the images above 😏. Remember to put you and your happiness first boo πŸ˜›πŸ˜‹ because no one else will πŸ’ͺ You got this πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ™Œ

You are enough πŸ’ͺπŸ™Œ

When yah down in the dumps there a few things that can easily pick your mood up with practice, im talking about your happy place & activities that increase your quality of life.

Whether its physically going to your happy place, yours may be like mine - the beach! the river! Doing my passions, or with friends, family, and making new friends & adventures!
What places or activities make you just so dam happy? πŸ˜πŸ˜›πŸ˜‹

If you can't physically go there, A good pick me up is to think about cool memories at those places when yah down. Think about what brings you joy & set realistic goals to get go to those places more often or do those activities more often. Not in a rushed way though team - true happiness takes time and practise, but is very worth the end results 😍πŸ’ͺπŸ™Œ

I hope these easy but effective tips help even just one of you gorgeous souls today! πŸ’—

I do hope all is well with you. Please feel comfortable enough to get in touch if you think you might benefit from a one-on-one video consultation with me πŸ˜‡πŸ’“. Our Online Mental Health Service is accessible via our website (link in bio & talk to a professional today).
During these strange times (COVID life & its impacts) its more and more clear how important keeping yah brain nice & healthy to look after you as best as it can!
We are a discrete, non-judgmental, well-trained team that are ready to help you tackle life's issues πŸ’—
Book online via website in bio!
We look forward to meeting you!

Love to you all & may you all have a fabulous weekend πŸ’“

Wow 😍 I am honestly blown away from the amount of amazing feedback I have received from my most recent chronic illness awareness update (check out Instagram for the update). I am doing well thank you for all your amazing supportive messages. This platform was started as a way for me to cope with developing such a horrific illness & to reach & connect to those who may get what I was going through. Its amazing that as time went on, it had ended up being that the reason for the platform changed to one that helps others like me & about sharing my Psychology knowledge & how it has helped me survive such a health battle. I think it is so beautiful that you guys are still there for me & my battles. I shared my story, as I always have, as I think it is so important to share the harsh realities of dealing with a chronic illness, how it affects you & how it affects those around you. And as a consequence, how you are treated as a result of being unwell. People will never know (hence raising awareness) just how much an illness or condition can affect your life unless they are educated on it. Its the harsh realities of being chronically ill. Many people cannot handle even hearing our harsh realities, let alone living it, so be proud that you can, have, and will continue to do so πŸ’ͺ Its about being real, being transparent & raising some god damm awareness πŸ‘ πŸ™ so that everyone can live and learn!

To those that I have heard from that have experienced similar pain or hurt I am so warmed that you have reached back πŸ’— this is exactly why I put the post up. I am sorry for what you have gone through and glad we have connected. Let's stay in touch πŸ’—
Never give up πŸ’—πŸ’— I see you πŸ’—

Just a reminder I hold no ill will towards anyone involved in my journey, I really care for my ex-partner & his family & always will. Its all about living, learning, accepting our good and bad moments and being able to move past them like we all are.

Be proud of who you are, and all that you have gone through. Life is messy, and anyone who tells you differently is fooling yah! But that's just life. We all got this! We live and learn everyday to become better people πŸ’—

Love to you all ❀ πŸ’•

Attention all! πŸ—£

I have been waiting to share this with you all for sometime now..... πŸ˜‡
What I am talking about?
Well I have decided to write this blog piece as a proper write up on my new website - the first proper blog post on our new website!!

https://www.chronicillnessinvisdisability-supportnz.com/post/the-picture-of-disease-and-i-dont-just-mean-physical

eeek!!! 😁

You won't believe what I discuss! And I have found an amazing movie to share with you all that is a massive chronic illness guide in its own! A game changer that I have to share. It would be wrong not too! Even if you don't have a chronic illness and still experience some level of pain - e.g headaches or a bad back or shoulder - this movie will be REALLY informative for you.

HIGHLY RECCOMENDED.

Stop feeding into negative beliefs and self-imagery today - starting with watching the full movie (full link can be found in the blog write up!) So check it out, and if you want to, book a session with me to learn more that relevant to your situation.πŸ’ͺ

YOUR CHRONIC ILLNESS EXPOSURE πŸ’ͺ

One of the most common misconceptions about battling health conditions - physical ones and/or mental ones! They don't just dissappear, even with hard work, and healing my body as a full time job for the last 2 years, I still get odd bouts of extreme full body chronic fatigue & full body pain that can complete incapacitate yah. Road to recovery is never easy or straightforward! ❀

All photos expect the last 3 where taken last week. 3rd to last photo was taken yesterday, last 2 are today. Even a big difference between today and yesterday avo!

This rollercoaster ride is not only hard on me at times but also for people around me.
I notice it confuses them just as much as it does me when my body goes splat out of no-where!
Sometimes this confusion can cause conflict when I all of a sudden need to become less reliable for those people. For example when they randomly can't depend on you because you all of a sudden have to physically and mentally prioritize yourself and your health in order to get back to feeling well enough to function asap. I'm sharing this story as I know from many private chats with other health battlers out there, you may have experienced this friction that your illness adds to all your relationships (friends, family, loved-ones) and yet can often be pushed onto you by healthy people as your loosing it or acting strange. Which only makes us feel even worse! This is a common stigma around health conditions and mental health that needs to change for the sake of the sufferers overall recovery, mental health & well-being.

Its important to shine light on such aspects of having a condition that others do not see.

More compassion ❀
Less judgment ❀
Less narrassism, more empathy ❀

Thats the road called recovery 😘

Appreciate you increasing your awareness πŸ™ ❀

My art therapy πŸ’œ ✨ πŸ’•

I have a black πŸ–€ bathroom so it truly brings out the brightness of my glass art ✨ πŸ˜‡πŸ₯°πŸ’ͺ

I'm am currently sitting on the floor of the bathroom, after just involuntarily spewing up. But hey, it's not a bad view from here as I wait for the nausea to subside enough to move from here β€πŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ€ŽπŸ–€πŸ€

Making/focusing on this post on my phone is helping distract from the shock I am in from randomly spewing as I can normally hold it down as im super used to nausea, like every day πŸ˜… its also helping me process it mentally πŸ˜‡πŸ€”πŸ€—

Its ok not be ok πŸ‘Œ πŸ€—πŸ€’

As always, giving you the realities of Chronically ill life πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺthe good & the nasty!

Our realities are both good and bad, its all about our mindsets, our resilience to wait out the terrible flares, & the level of support for each other when in need & as a community πŸ₯°πŸ’ͺ

Thanks for reading & increasing your awareness &/or validation the ill & our struggle & ability to get up again & again as our own bodies feel like they are against us sometimes πŸ’ͺ🀟

Sorry I was a bit late with this one team!!!

But here it is! My first vaccine experience (with my pre-existing conditions of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & Fibromyalgia). Please keep in mind that this is just one person's personal experience πŸ˜‡ but still good to share!!

First of all, before looking at outcomes it's important to note that my body was not as it's best it can feel (with my conditions I mean) lately as iv been working hard to set up my new online business on the daily πŸ˜πŸ˜‡πŸ˜΄. So, it's important to note that given how my body usually reacts to things, feeling burnt out would have increased my bodies sensitivity to the vaccines immediate shock to one's body (usually just felt in ones arm in a healthy Joe Blogs).

Received vaccine 3pm. Felt strange but not too much more than that.

Went home & was good to do house jobs.
Around 7pm is when my pain kicked in. Not just the arm pain btw. Which was alot. But my WHOLE body entered one of its classic pain flares. Dammn. Iv jumped straight into the belly of the dragon. This is what I feared but I felt wasn't worth explaining to 'normal' people - I put off getting the vaccine until now for this exact reason. Fear of a flare in my bodies general symptoms. Though there was a small voice in my head me in the back of my head saying - I am proud of myself for doing something that scared me, yes I flared but at the same time...I'm surviving it & iv concured the first mountain (the first vaccine). Healthy people MAY not even see the vaccine as a hurdle to overcome personally but
For us, for the ill- we're worried about if our bodies will let us survive getting two lots of the vaccine. Without having to be booked into the hospital for a week or two afterwards.
Day 2 - day after vaccine- HELL. All my symptoms are a go - nausea is the worst. Nausea is actually painful its so intense. Achey forearms & leg muscles. Fatigue.
Day 3 - Same.
Day 4 - Symptoms less but still a lot.
Day 5 - Symptoms lessen more.
Day 6 - back to norm for my bodies norm.

Thank you for taking the time to read πŸ˜‡

Please remember any hate will be removed- this is a safe place ❀❀

14/10/2021

Self-Care Reminder by me for you πŸ˜‡πŸ₯°πŸ’ͺ

NEXT -

My next post will be on how im recovering/feeling after getting my first COVID vaccine yesterday. Did my condition (chronic fatigue syndrome & Fibromyalgia) go into a flare like I feared when I got the injection?

Having a sensitive body that reacts easy to medication & already experiences weird 'side-effects' from my own body just chilling on the regular can be scary!😎 I was scared about how my body would react injecting a strong substance into it. When I first got sick, the doctors went through a trail & error period testing & trying me on different meds to see what helps my symptoms. This is common for people with complex health problems with no clear answer. I reacted negatively to some of the meds when my body already felt like my symptoms couldn't get any worse. But they did, add in fainting, & made my body feel too heavy to even carry my on weight to stand or walk. Crawling was the safest movement option when they had me on those meds. Thank goodness I'm not on those particular meds still. But when u hear πŸ‘‚normal people around u saying they are experiencing negative intial pain flare from the injection it can put the ill/unwell off!

Who here has a health condition & got the vaccine? Did it cause a flare in ur conditions symptoms? Or different symptoms? Or no symptoms at all?

Would love to hear everyone's experience during these strange times πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ’ͺ❀

Iv decided because the COVID talk can get too much at times that ill restrict the conversation to this post & the following one then u probably won't hear me talking about COVID again, just because it's important to keep on topic & not let COVID chat overrun the importance of Chronic illness & invisible disability EMPOWERMENT & awareness πŸ’—πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Appreciate you & our interactions πŸ˜‡πŸ₯°πŸ’ͺπŸ’“

Remember, you are not alone πŸ’“πŸ‘‹

14/10/2021

Its still happening!!!

Behind the scenes I have been working hard on a new massive project that will hopefully bring about some change in my home country New Zealand. The platform I am creating is an extension of my Chronically an Artist platform you see here and on Facebook. The new platform will allow me to help others & work one-on-one with other fellow warriors & their families using my training & background in Postgrad Psychology & my own personal experience of battling debilitating conditions of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (which at times has been completely bed ridden me for upto 4 months), Fibromyalgia, Endometriosis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, & Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

Using my health journey not for pitty, but in conjunction with my training (two degrees, half a masters, trained as an Academic Researcher by Massey University Psychology department's Acting Director at the time Dr Michael Phillips for 3 years). Im combing it all to make an impact ✨ 😌 πŸ’ͺ. Making my pain worth living through in my own way - to help others like me feel emotionally supported & empowered.

I wish I could do this for all, but I am only one woman, one mission, one dream, and yah gotta start somewhere - so starting in my home country πŸ’ͺ

So what will I be doing?

I will be offering one-on-one online zoom consultations for fellow warriors where I will be their Coach Illness Coach for 45 min sessions (weekly, monthly, every two weeks - whatever you need).

So you may be wondering whats the hold up then?

I have been making sure iv crossed all my T's and dotted all the i's. This includes- registering a business, bringing in an chattered accountancy firm, building a website that supports zoom where it will all be based off (this will be the new platform), getting the correct protections, Sorting Insurance, opening up a business account - the list goes on!!!! The nitty gritty of opening up a new business!

But! I'm slowly nearly at the finish line! I will keep you updated as soon as im able to go live and take on clients! 😁

Watch this space!
