Field tours to the Government Industrial Training Institute for Itarsi, Betul, Jhabua, Sardarpur (Dhar), and Indore was organized in order to learn more about the psychosocial difficulties and obstacles that students and faculty of ITIs encounter. The Umang Kishor Helpline team organized this trip with UNFPA's support and guidance.

A 3-day training program is being conducted by Umang Kishor Helpine, from 8 March 2022 to 10 March 2022.

Addressing the training, the helpline welcomed the facilitator, Dr Chinu Agarwal, Director, FeelingMinds, Licenciate & accredited Psychologist & Psychotherapist from Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

For its commencement, the helpline witnessed the presence of Mr Sunil Thomas, State Head, UNFPA, Madhya Pradesh; Mr Javed Shaikh, State Consultant, Life Skills Education Program, DPI; and Mrs Maya Bohra, Director, Lakshya Making The Way of Education Society.

The purpose of today's training program conducted on 8 March 2022 was to help counsellors acquire knowledge and skills to deepen their understanding on Transactional Analysis.

Transactional Analysis refers to the psychoanalytic process wherein interpersonal are studied. In other words, a social psychological model that talks about personal growth and personal change, i.e., identifying the ego states of each individual to understand their behaviours and altering them to solve the emotional problems.

The training was enlightening with an in-depth theoretical understanding of the concept blended with activities like role plays, group discussions etc.

TRAINING SESSION ON LEARNING DISABILITY
28 February 2022.

Children who learn and think differently due to Learning Disabilities are often discriminated. To make sure that the voyage of these children through identification can be streamlined for their growth, Umang Kishor Helpline organized an in-house training session for its counsellors about Learning Disabilities.

Gracing the occasion, Dr Veena Dani, HOD, Department of Psychology, Nutan College, Bhopal, delivered the training session and enlightened the counsellors to deepen their understanding about the label of learning disability. The meeting was also honored by the presence of Mr Anurag Sonwalker, State Program Analyst, UNFPA; Mr Javed Shaikh, State Consultant, Life Skills Education Program, DPI; and Mrs Maya Bohra, Director, Lakshya Making The Way of Education Society.

Umang Kishor Helpline expresses their gratitude towards Dr Veena Dani for such an insightful session and for helping spread awareness about such a prevalent disability.
