Under normal circumstances I generally keep my personal life very personal because everything that’s on public display is open for public opinion, but it’s important for me to acknowledge a particular point in my life changed me as a man, specifically as a African American father. Today is my son’s 24th birthday and I made a collage of some of the moments in his life that we shared and sent it to him and it meant more to me that he hearted it and then told me he love me. This is better than any gift I’ve ever received in my life. I say this to all my brothers who are fathers and how we wish and pray that our sons are better than we are. I can see that my son already has a compassionate heart and for that I thank Allah for his mercy.

Happy 15 days after Juneteenth .

The last 10 days of Ramadan are here and I really can’t believe it’s been 20days already. I’ve grown this year via this fast, I’ve been quieter as it so loud in the world.
