Marc Bayliss, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, meeting WMRSASC Early Intervention and Prevention team
“18th March is National Child Exploitation Awareness Day . The Branch Project, a team of dedicated child sexual exploitation specialists at WMRSASC, strives to empower children by providing them with a comprehensive understanding of grooming and exploitation through tailored intervention.
With their expertise, the team works tirelessly to support and educate children who may have experienced or are vulnerable to sexual exploitation. They create a safe and nurturing environment for children to openly discuss their experiences, enabling them to develop a deep understanding of healthy & unhealthy relationships.
Through their compassionate and gentle approach, The Branch Project ensures that children are equipped with the knowledge and skills to move forward positively. Their commitment to promoting and advocating child safety is crucial in preventing, identifying, and responding to this form of abuse.

Simply The Best – Kerrie’s OARsome Rowing Challenge
WMRSASC is delighted to have the support of fundraiser Kerrie Best, Head of Operations for Purple Leaf, who is undertaking a rowing challenge in aid of the counselling service.
Taking place on 6th May 2023, Kerrie will row 21,097m, (half marathon) without breaks, at Roots Fitness in Droitwich, where she has received expert coaching and support.
When asked about the challenge, Kerrie said: “I’ve worked at WMRSASC for 15 years now and I’m very aware that the counselling service struggles to receive consistent and sustainable funding. I have completed several fundraising events and I love a personal fitness challenge that requires resilience and endurance. I ran the London Marathon in 2018 but needed a new challenge with lower physical impact. I would really like to raise enough funds for 10 specialist counselling sessions, which is roughly £600, but raising awareness of WMRSASC and our services is just as important to me.”
“I’d like to say a huge Thank You to Roots Fitness who are providing the equipment and for all their support and coaching, prior to this challenge I’d only rowed about 500m as part of my general fitness workout, and they have helped me push through to this next level.”
If you would like to help Kerrie reach her target and raise much-needed funds for WMRSASC, please donate using the following link: https://www.justgiving.com/page/kerrie-rowing
