Unlike other government employees, public school teachers are not entitled to the usual vacation and sick leave credits. These will be deducted to their salary unless they have their service credits earned from rendering official services during holidays or weekends.

Mandatory leave, sick leave, special leave and birthday leave are enjoyed by other government employees.

This is why teachers have Proportional Vacation Pay (PVP) which comprises 70 days of summer vacation and 14 days of Christmas vacation.

Unfortunately, this 2023, teachers have not properly enjoyed this right because of some important tasks.

However, teachers remain passionate because they are aware that they need to extend their service for the benefits of their learners.

As of today, Egay death toll has already climbed to 26 while its total damage to infrastracture and agriculture has now reached Php5.8 B.
